(CBS/AP) -- President Obama weighed in on Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin's controversial comments about "legitimate rape" Wednesday, mocking Akin by saying he "somehow missed science class."
"The interesting thing here is that this is an individual who sits on the House Committee on Science and Technology but somehow missed science class," Mr. Obama said at a fundraiser in New York City Wednesday night. "But it's representative of a desire to go backwards instead of forwards. And fights that we thought were settled twenty, thirty years ago."

this must be the first time i agreed with Obama.
Isn’t it great that Akin and his psychotic zealots can keep Biden and the economy off the airwaves?

“Here’s a thought...go on the offensive “
I LIKE that, instead of quit, resign, turn tail and run. But unfortunately that ain’t the Republican Way.

Akin publicly apologized by saying he was wrong.
You’re doing a fine job now working for McCaskill.

I LIKE that, instead of quit, resign, turn tail and run. But unfortunately that aint the Republican Way And how does one go on the offensive against such terms as "legitimate rape", and such theories that a female reproductive system shuts down during rape.
If you have the answer the Todd Akin campaign will pay you a million dollars.
To: DallasBiff
Actually Mr. Legitimate Rape(Todd Akin) should drop out, but his ego will not let him.Good. His ego is properly placed. He has a record as a true-believing conservative who doesn't, when the GOP establishment says "jump," ask "how high?" His voting record shows true independence from the GOP power brokers and true conservatism. He is EXACTLY what we need in the Senate.

Akin is radioactive. The commie press will repeat his insane remark 24 hours a day every day until hes gone, using it to try and tar every other Republican in 2012 and to avoid having to report on the economy and Obamas record in general. And you really believe that sacrificing Akin will silence these bastard? They'll just move on to the GOP platform plank tying that to Akin as well. You got rid of Akin now change the plank.

Akin publicly apologized by saying he was wrong. Youre doing a fine job now working for McCaskill Uh dude, I didn't contribute 2 million dollars to his campaign, like McCaskill did, and anyways, do you support the term, "legitimate rape"?
To: Red Steel
Awesome, we're adding more to the pool here, anyone who disagrees with this idiot Akin and wants him out so a competent pro-life conservative can win the seat has been referred to as:
A Harpy
A Bedwetter
A ProAbort Liberal
A Yellow Bellied RINO
A regular variation RINO
All because they are opposing the guy that the Democrats are happily supporting, even financially. Wow.

"Youre doing a fine job now working for McCaskill." Actually so far Akin has been looking like he's working for McCaskill. He's done a great job reviving her politically and giving her another 6 year term in the Senate.
It makes sense though, she did spend a good $2 million on him, which is turning out to be the best $2 million any candidate has ever spent.

Good points JJ.
The DC Beltway establishment has alienated Akin and he has alienated them. :-)

Maybe we can get the Dims and McCaskill to send rat money to more of our candidates. LoL. If you guy will just get off Akin's back, he can make McCaskill eat her stupid investment.
To: PhxTM06
All because they are opposing the guy that the Democrats are happily supporting, even financially. Wow Once his use of getting McCaskill elected, he will be dropped by the democrats. Akin was a backbencher GOPer, and they saw a perfect target. He is now getting all the attention, and he loves it, he thinks with his you know what but not with his his brain. If he stays in the race and loses, he loses and doesn't get his juicy pension, but he(Todd Akin) will always have the interview with Matt Lauer to remember.
