MISSOURI: THE 'SHOW ME ANOTHER G.O.P. CANDIDATE' STATE ... Ann Coulter
Ann Coulter Dot Com ^ | 22 Aug 2012 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 08/23/2012 12:26:25 AM PDT by Rummyfan

Relying on Todd Akin's sense of decency has not worked. Within hours of his idiotic comments about "legitimate rape," Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS pulled out millions of dollars in funding for the Missouri Senate race. Akin didn't get the hint.

Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, withdrew all funding from the Missouri race. Akin still refused to quit.

Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, a major Christian and tea party favorite, immediately called for Akin to withdraw from the race -- nothing.

Even Sean Hannity, the most true-blue Republican and defender of all conservatives, pleaded with Akin to withdraw. Still nothing.

This guy Akin is more selfish than Eliot Spitzer. After being caught in a prostitution scandal, Spitzer spent two days looking for anyone who would come to his aid. When no one did, he resigned.

Not Todd Akin!

True, what Spitzer did was worse, but not in the Democratic tradition. Moreover, Spitzer was the sitting governor! Akin won a highly contested Republican primary only a few weeks ago and thinks he's got a God-given right to be the Senate candidate from Missouri.

"Akin was not even the clear choice of conservatives. In the primary, John Brunner was endorsed by both Missouri Right to Life and the National Right to Life. Sarah Steelman was endorsed by Sarah Palin. Akin was endorsed by the Democratic Party."

OUCH!

He’s an engineer. He also thinks this is going to blow over. It won’t.

Only hope Rats have is to get a large (larger than last time) percentage of white women to vote for Zero. “War on Women” was going to be a constant drum beat to drown out the failing economy, huge debt, etc.

This stupid comment was exactly what the left wanted. There are 30+ stories on it on the CNN.com front page. It will not go away and he’ll likely say something else stupid that’ll get Republicans off message.

Sometime in early october when he’s down so low in the polls there’s no chance of winning he will drop out rather than waste the time and money.

The dems will win the seat almost by default. It was to be a relatively easy seat to win too.

Yep. Smartest $1.5 mill the Dems will spend all year.

Why not just stay on the economy, jobs, debt, etc.? Why even get into these social issues as they are these days a matter for the judiciary?

Romney not talking about Mormonism at all is the right thing to do. “Women are concerned about finding work for themselves and providing for their families. Families are suffering right now and that’s the real issue in this election.”

This is not a GOPe, RINO, Conservative, Democrat or Republican issue.

This is an issue of stupidity of a candidate who just happens to be conservative.

While I was going to do everything possible to see to it that Obama got defeated in November, in the back of my head I knew that if Obama had won I could blame the GOP Establishment and their forcing Romney on us. Well, thanks to Akin (and his supporters (outside of his own state) that’s out the window now.

Unless Akin beats McCaskill AND Romney wins the State of Missouri but loses the general, the heat is now OFF Romney and the GOPe if Obama wins a second term.

That’s how everything has changed since last week. And that’s a set back for the conservative movement.

WE will now be the blame.

What makes me freak is that ONLY DEMOCRATS and NO REPUBLICANS want him to stay in the race YET the Democrats are claiming Akin is representative of the GOP!!!

The Obama blowing MSM are really jumping Jaws this year.

Had to edit my tagline...”legitimate” is also another word for legal—or an act you get away with.

Or pull the brilliant move of comparing him to a demo-commie, like Eliot Spitzer.

Good job of smearing a Republican by trying to equate him to an extremely well known slimy democrat.

It took over a month before (D) Rep. Kerry Gauthier the pole smoker caught with a 17 year old at a rest stop in Minnesota to finally say he wasn’t running for office again.

He states democratic leaders pressured him to withdraw his re-election bid. My guess is he was tired of getting request for the 17 year olds name and number by fellow Democratic pervs.

Akin was quoted recently as stating his candidacy is “providential.” Well, if handing the Senate seat on a silver platter to Claire McCaskill and thus drowning any chance of booting Harry Reid back to minority status is “God`s will,” his concept of God is rather different than mine.

The idiot thinks he can win despite no funding, no resources and no infrastructure against a rejuvenated democrat incumbent whose campaign operatives toys with him like a cat plays with a mouse before devouring it. He even cites that laughable PPP “poll” that sampled R+9 to get him to +1 as rationale for continuing.

Hard-headed, self-serving a-hole.

If the Dems maintain a Senate majority thanks to Akin they will make him the new DNC chair with a 7 figure salary...

...perhaps his plan all along?

Follow the money. How much Democrat funding has ended up in Akin’s campaign, either directly or through PAC ads? How much more leftist money will now go to support Akin until it is too late for the GOP to recover when the Dems pull the plug on Akin? Akin is nothing but a Dem tool now and willfully doing great harm to the chances of turning the country back from Obama’s plans to take the US down for good.
