the poor turnaround that Ron Johnson has engineered at JCPenney Co. Inc. (NYSE: JCP). Our take is that this is the beginning of the end and is a prelude to Ron Johnson's termination.

Shares have gone from $60 five years ago to under $25 again, and the 52-week range is $19.06 to $43.18. Johnson has been on the job now for just under a year

...

Perhaps chimpanzees could have done as well.

Howard Davidowitz, of the retail consulting firm Davidowitz & Associates, said on Bloomberg TV that Ron Johnson will "be a goner" in another nine months if this continues. He noted how Johnson did not even test his price-matching strategy before launching it and then undoing it. Davidowitz said that Johnson needs to seriously slow the pace of change, do some more in-store stores that were a success, and

Perhaps chimpanzees could have done as well.

Perhaps? When was jettisoning 98% of your customers to please 2% ever a good strategy?

JC Penney’s Still Promoting Homosexuality.

JC Penney’s featuring a lesbian couple for Mother’s Day. Now they’ve done another ad... for Father’s Day.

It’s amazing to me how liberals can’t recognize that most of us don’t see homosexuality as being normal, or wholesome.

I tolerate it, but I view a homosexual much the way I view someone with cancer. The affliction doesn’t define them, but I wouldn’t wish the affliction on anyone.

Catering to perverts and other left wingers. Not a winning strategy unless you run a bath house.

the elimination of sales and coupons spelled the demise of Penney’s. The ads were just the finishing touch.

Mrs. Thorne and Little Miss Perfect Thorne went back-to-school shopping the other day and took a moment to look at the new JCP.

They reported that it looks like a bargain basement with murky lighting. JCP is trying to look hip, dontcha know?

Bye, bye Johnson. James Cash Penney may very well come out of his grave to wrest his "Golden Rule" business from the psychotic, rectal Left.

Another pro-homo turn-around specialist.

How did Obama pass him by when he picked his economic czars?

Advertising agencies sell the myth that a bad ad is a neutral rather than a negative.

They are blind to the fact that a bad ad will COST SALES.

Look at the superbowl snickers commercial where two men “kissed”. It cost snicker candy bar sales.

I went to Penney’s last weekend to get a tee shirt with a pocket, my normal fashion. As I walked by the men’s shirt section, a guy was ranting to his wife, “A sports shirt without a pocket in a “slim fit”!! Who the hell would want it, let alone fit in it?”

They dump their traditional working class family customers for the “fabulous” crowd. What could possibly go wrong.

People should talk to real consumers before they try to upend a store’s image. The ads were horrible, their new pricing was terrible, and their focus on a gay spokesperson couldn’t have been worse. He brought this company down as fast as he could single handed. One might call him the obama hussein of the retail industry.

Gee,

Sure haven't seen that type of advertising since they canned Michael Francis. Oh, and Ellen Degeneres has been kind of quiet for them lately.

Word has it their apology is being said via substantial donations to the USO, 4H, Boys and Girls clubs and several other classic American organizations.

Personally, I think they learned an expensive lesson and are trying to recover from it.

I also dislike the bilingual signage. The language in this country is English. Penneys is catering to certain groups — first, the illegals and now the gays — and marginalizing everyone else. Alienate the majority of the consumers and your business will fail.

When was jettisoning 98% of your customers to please 2% ever a good strategy?

Well, there's the Pareto Principle. They've not just taken it to the extreme, but completely ignored the reality of both their business and their customer base.

Making $$$ off the hoi polloi without being insulting apparently doesn't get them enough invitations to the cultural elite parties.

I don't think they know that they are spending all their ad dollars on a market, most of whom wouldn't be caught dead at JCP, and those that would, are too few, not affluent, and are too geographically dispersed to make up for all the lost business that supported JCP, and more than likely, weren't all that upset by the pre-gay advertising.

It’s amazing how so many geniuses will try every possible solution except good products at good prices.

You don’t really need marketing if you have that - word gets around faster than you can put together brainstorming session for a single ad campaign.

But sometimes they are fabulously successful at selling crap for high prices, at least for awhile. Exhibit A is sitting in the white house.

I agree with you and as a plug for my new favorite online place to buy my work clothes and day to day stuff I recommend WWW.duluthtrading.com.

I have been very pleased with everything I have bought from them.

since a number of women in my family have, have had and are in danger of having breast cancer I don't see lgbt people at all like them. Instead I view lgbt people like child rapist who have served their time, have to tolerate them because it's the law but, have as little as possible to do with them and keep a close eye on them.
