A judge on Thursday ordered the release of a former Marine who was detained for psychiatric evaluation after posting strident anti-government messages on Facebook. Raub was invalid because it contained no allegation or basis to hold him, according to the head of a civil liberties organization that represented the 26-year-old veteran.

Some of his Facebook posts, like “Sharpen my axe; I’m here to sever heads” may have caused some concern about his potential for violence. It’s good to keep a lid on the worst of the rhetoric.

sadly, he still loses his right to bear arms. When one is involuntarily committed, atleastin my state, one immediately and permenently lose the right to bear arms. The final outcome does not matter.

Well according to the EPA slug, they have to crucify 4 more citizens to set an example so you do not screw with the government as it is no longer a government of the people, by the people and for the people but a government headed by a mentored and schooled Marxist and a democrat party completely assimilated by the CPUSA.

The founders would have taken action.

Just four years ago, Big Media would have called him a hero, a CHAMPION of civil rights and freedom of speech.

FU Big Media — as always!

that the involuntary commitment order issued by a magistrate against Brandon J. Raub was invalid because it contained no allegation or basis to hold him

Now will the government "correct" this to add specific allegations or will they abandon it because it is beginning to get attention.

Good thing Jefferson never said anything crazy like ‘blood of tyrants’ or he’d be labled a looney and sent to the twitch farm.

The guy thinks 9-11 was an inside job, thinks chemtrails are being used to poison us, thinks the CFR is planting computer chips in us, and wants to lead the revolution using an axe to cut off peoples heads.

Guy is a nut.

How many on this site were secretly thinking of self censoring a little? Yeh thats what I thought. That is what this is all about. Drop the hammer on one and the rest will shut up.

Too bad Raub got away. Now Obooboo will have to look for another patsy. Let the lawsuits begin.

I think Raub should sue the local cops and FBI for violation of his forth amendment rights to be free from unreasonable search and seizure.

They entered his home and took him in to custody with out a valid warrant.

When I first saw this story I wondered. Why did they get to keep him so long? It would seem like something you’d just have a talk about, determine what he’s about and whether or not he’s dangerous and then let him go.

Some of his Facebook posts, like “Sharpen my axe; I’m here to sever heads” may have caused some concern about his potential for violence.

Yeah, and imagine if he had said something as horrific as "...heads are gonna roll"

“... Sharpen my axe; I’m here to sever heads” may have caused some concern about his potential for violence.”

One an earlier Raub thread one poster noted that that precise language is taken from a popular rock song. Not that *I* or, apparently, the Feds, would know. Maybe hard metal rock?

I don’t believe that being held for observation is the same thing as being committed.

He hasn’t been adjudicated as being incompetent.
