Also, isn't that language she's using awfully Bible-y?

Even the Devil can quote Scripture.

Jean - I don’t care if you forgive me, as I rely on the mercy of God on a daily basis, praying the “Our Father” prayer is a good way to do it [the last several lines are sufficient for me]. Then I also receive the the RC [Confession] Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Jean, you are not Jesus Christ; you are not a priest or minister; you are a human being who is without humility and who is a hypocrite.

LOL! I think Cain was the one who asked God if he was his brother's keeper. The part liberals gloss over is that God never answered him.

Besides, the question shouldn't be are we our brother's keepers, but should we be forced to be.

"It boils down to I am my brother's keeper, or I am not my brother's keeper."

When God was asked that question, it just made him angry. He didn't even bother answering it.

No, we are not our brothers keepers. Our brothers should be taught to keep themselves.

"Give a man a (welfare) fish and ....."
"If you don't work, you shouldn't eat."

The liberals sure are good at misquoting the parts of the Bible they think they can use, but they conveniently leave out the most important stuff - the stuff that condemns them to an afterlife of eternal hell in a burning lake of fire. They don't want to discuss that part. They don't want anyone discussing that part. It makes them look....not so pleasant.

I could be wrong, but I thought the only reference in the Bible to ‘my brother’s keeper’ was when cain was denying knowing what happened to Abel.

A lot of that discussion has been brought up in the context of “Randian” vs. “Christian” thinking, as in this article:

http://americanvaluesnetwork.org/aynrandvsjesus/

“GOP leaders want to argue that they are defending Christian principles. But, at the same time, Rep. Paul Ryan (author of the GOP budget) is posting facebook videos praising Rand’s morality and saying hers is the “kind of thinking that is sorely needed right now.” Simply put, Paul Ryan can’t have it both ways, and neither can Christians.”

OMG, it is the end of the world, she won’t forgive someone for being a Republican!!! What arrogance to think that anyone would care if she “forgave” them or not.

Pity. Used to like her. When I had to hear people drone on about "Sex and the City" and tell me how much I'd love Kim Catrall, I countered with Jean Smart is better looking and a better actress (she was on "24" at the time, and the best comparable actress I could think of offhand).

They can't all be Kelsey Grammar, which reminds me: Does Smart forgive herself for playing "Frasier"'s boyfriend for, like, half a season or so?

Who the hell is Stephanie Miller?

Her father was Barry Goldwater's running mate.
