ST. PETERSBURG — Two suspected protesters were arrested after they were found playing with a BB gun atop a downtown parking garage, authorities said.

**SNIP**

They also found several items indicating the people were protesters, including antigovernment T-shirts and a backpack stuffed with a large machete, a pocketknife, tin snips and a pry tool, Puetz said.

The backpack belonged to Trevor Swanson, 19, of St. Petersburg, who is prohibited from having weapons because of a domestic violence injunction.

Police said the other man on the roof, Kyle Shaw, 21, had a BB gun in his waistband.

Authorities also found bandanas, black gloves and a putty that Swanson admitted was for securing a mask, police said.

I wonder if it was a steel BB shooting gun or a soft air plastic BB shooting gun?

Panic & Hysteria sure to follow anyone shooting any type of weapon/BB gun from a roof near the RNC.

There are anarchists out there fully capable of murder, but most of these brainwashed idiots are just troublemakers inspired by their college professors.

They are fools if they try to start trouble.

Let all those mushy-middlers come to associate the Democrats with street violence; they will run to the polls to vote Republican.

Title: "St. Petersburg sees first RNC-related arrests.."

Possible correction: "St. Petersburg sees first DNC-related arrests.."

These guys should not be arrested for using a 2nd Amendment right.

They weren't. What were they charged with? How can you be legally arrested for exercising a right. They simply showed how terminally stupid they were. On roof, with gun (or what looks like a gun) near a convention. If they shot at someone, they may have been killed for a terminally stupid prank.

More than likely intended to create a panic.

Somebody reports “man on rooftop with gun” and you have panic city.

They don't know it's just a BB gun until they catch them.

Then it's a big joke that it's just a BB gun.

Idiot leftist believe that since it's just a BB gun nothing much will happen to them when they are caught.

Shaw, listed as a transient from Largo, was arrested on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon. Swanson was arrested on charges of possessing burglary tools, violating an injunction and being a delinquent felon in possession of a weapon.

I admit that a BB gun is a stretch as a concealed weapon, but he certainly did not have a permit. And the article mentioned an anti-government T-shirt, bet it was not a T-party T-shirt. These are Leftie paid useful idiots. And STUPID.

Stupid leftists don't run around with burglary tools. These guys had a prybar to open up roof drain systems ~ and the bb gun may just have been there to shoot rats that pop out ~ or they were going to put something in the sewer drains and set it off via some sort of incendiary ignitor fried from a bb gun.

There are materials you can mix, leave, and 45 minutes to an hour later they'll start a fire.

Henry's Chemistry has a lot of them ~ and the internet is a treasuretrove of such information. Kids and professional thieves get arrested for carrying around the ingredients all the time.

Maybe I'm missing something here but who secures a mask with putty?

The only thing that makes sense to me is if the putty were to secure a poorly fitting gas mask, to make sure the edges seal to the skin without gaps.

If that was the case, then it was not just a bit of varmint hunting.

Why am I thinking they were there waiting to break into cars when everyone was attending the convention?

No bias in the title trying to characterize this as the RNC’s fault. Nope, none. /sarc

BB gun....sheesh. Maybe going to do a bit of damage to a sign or two but a BB gun? lol. We used those big time when I was a kid. People are too sensitive now a days.

Here's a harmless little Air-rifle "the Condor" will shoot the 14.3-grain .22 Crosman Premier at velocities of around 1,250 f.p.s. for the first five shots! The first 15 shots will usually be faster than 1,200 f.p.s., and even shot 20 will usually still be above 1,175.

That just might be a little mischievous for a kid's BB gun.

here's a harmless little bb-gun pistol that put out a round at about 1000 fps.

I’m particularly fond of shooting straightened paperclips with a good-sized rubberband. Accurate and deadly!

> House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi “God bless them for
> their spontaneity. It’s independent, it’s young, it’s
> spontaneous, and it’s focused. And it’s going to be
> effective.”

So were the jihadis fighting the USMC in the Second Battle of Fallujah. The young, spontaneous, and focused jihadis were so arrogant yet ineffectual in attacking the Marines, that it became in effect a “turkey shoot”.

They were so incredibly bad as fighters that after killing many who had made the same stupid mistakes over and over again, some of the Marines took to laughing, as what the enemy was doing was so irrational and suicidal, they couldn’t help themselves.

This was interpreted by the jihadis that the Marines had to have been on drugs, to laugh in the middle of a battle. So they talked of “The drug-crazed, laughing Marines”.

However, when all was said and done, in 46 days of combat, the Marines had 95 dead and 560 wounded; but the bad guyz had about 1,500 dead and 1,500 captured, with most of the remaining thousand wounded and fled. A very conservative estimate, with some unofficial estimates as double that.

In any event, “young, dumb, and full of ****” will generally fail when opposed by experience, age and patience.

We had better anticipate the spark for violence creating a Reichstag Fire.

The communist regime will try harder as the election draws close, especially if their internal polls are signaling a loss.

They are so close to taking over they are licking their chops. They can’t “allow” losing, especially in a landslide.

If We The People stay home when widespread violence occurs, we’ll suffer much more from the empowered communists the rest of our lives.

If the communists win, this will be the last FREE election for a long time.

Ask anyone who lived under tyranny to refute or confirm the above.

Thanks, mel. Found this little gem this morning.:

“Federal authorities are urging law enforcement agencies across the country to watch out for signs that extremists might be planning to wreak havoc at the upcoming political conventions — by blocking roads, shutting down transit systems and even employing what were described as acid-filled eggs.”
