It is an audacious gamble that could determine who the next US president will be.
In a last-ditch attempt to reconnect with the American people, Mitt Romney will parade his family on stage on the first day of the Republican presidential convention in Florida tomorrow all 140 of them.
The four-day convention is the biggest event of the former Massachusetts governors stuttering bid to become the 45th president of the USA.
Four hundred and fifty days into Romneys campaign, and with just ten weeks to go until the election, the Republican Partys presumptive nomination is struggling to overcome the negative impact of his various gaffes, his apparently contradictory positions on several key issues including healthcare and abortion, and questions about his business career and wealth.
Most polls have Barack Obama very slightly ahead, but in real terms the contest is neck and neck.
The convention, which is likely to focus on economic issues and will be watched by a TV audience of more than 20 million people, will be the make-or-break moment for Romney because it will mark the point at which the majority of Americans will start to take notice of the presidential campaign.

“In a last-ditch attempt to reconnect with the American people,”
...that’s funny. I didn’t know Mitt was in “last ditch attempt” mode at all.
Gee, I wonder how many are on welfare or illegals? Ought to provide a nice contrast.
Wow. If this crap isn't Pravda, nothing is. What type of crap news is this?
Romney is already being seen as the victor. His great American family will only seal the deal. (It's something Oboma does not have.)
Parading his parents, step parents, hut-dwelling brother, welfare-queen illegal alien auntie, or grandparents (if he could) would be the last thing he'd do - we'd see just exactly who he really is.
Likewise for the influential people in his life - FMD, Bill Ayers and wife Bernadine, 'Rev' Wright, and so on. You two have quite a pair of cojones for foreigners who live in a country beset with the Muslim Tide.
No lefty ‘bias’ here ..... /S
Comparing the Romneys to the Obamas would be like comparing the Osmond family to the Addams family, with apologies to the late Charles Addams
Some Liberal is going to put out a “Downfall” parody — “Mitt Romney finds out 140 members of his family can’t make it to the convention”
Considering the start of the convention has been pushed back a day due to the storm, Romney won’t be “parading” anybody on the stage tomorrow (MON, AUG 27).
This “report” is a steaming pile.
Wow, pretty pathetic “reporting”. No agendas there; no siree Bob.
'Course, who you have around
might have a lot to do with
if you STAY areound ...
Must have gotten all their words mixed up.
The only stutterer is their god in the white hut.
FU Big Media — up yours!
Great...Moochelle parades her semi-tractor ass all over the world, at taxpayer expense, and we’re supposed to be mad at Romney for having his family on stage with him.
I don’t know of any president who didn’t have his family by his side, before, during or after his presidency.
The support of the press for our red-diaper president, steeped in communism his whole life, is astounding. Once Barry is defeated, and exposed for the fraud that he is, there will be a lot of “journalists” out there wondering what happened to their credibility. A lot of networks wondering what happened to their audiences.
Most polls have Barack Obama very slightly ahead, but in real terms the contest is neck and neck.
Even more of a reason to crush him in a landslide. At this point I would vote for anyone, anyone! just to have the satisfaction of giving them a slap down his father would feel. As far as these ficticious polls, stick it up your rear, Carter was a head of Reagan in the last minutes as per these polls.
Poor things.

You forgot Uncle Omar, his illegal, drunk driving Uncle who also lives in the formerly great state of Mass.
Parading your chillun' does not overcome the problem ~ he's already talking in some detail how he's going to do another RomneyKKKare complete with the insurance policy fascism.
Gad, is this guy stupid or what.
