Years ago I read that there were boiling mud pots, similar to those in Yellowstone Park, that were covered when the Salton Sea was formed by the break through of the Colorado River back in the early 1900s.

I does seem like a sizable swarm to me. A little worrisome.

I know what this is.

I remember a few years back, some stories of how the government had drilled down and planted explosives around Yellowstone, and were going to set it off and trigger a world calamity for the one world government take over.

In reality, this is Obamas "October" surprise. He's going to set off some volcanoes in S Kalifornicate, decimate the Salton Sea, enact martial law and suspend the election.

Hows that?

glad earthquake-report.com did some history digging. answered the "normal" question for me (as of now) Update 21:44 UTC - The last comparable seismic swarm in Brawley dates from 1970. Another one occurred in the 1930′s - Some buildings in Brawley were evacuated after the first stronger quakes. People will probably stay outside for a while which is good in case other even stronger quakes would strike. - The Brawley zone is a complex seismic area of smaller faults. The San Andreas main Fault runs from near Palm Springs to enter Mexico just west of Yuma.

Magma rising in a rift area like Brawley certainly makes sense. The quakes are from some 9.7 miles to a couple hundred feet in depth. You would have to suspect the magma pool is fairly shallow. It doesn’t guarantee any eruption but this is very similar in pattern to some areas the great rift valley in Africa. Also, the Clear Lake region in Northern California has frequent quake swarms (nothing as dramatic as this, though).

Well, southern CA has had other earthquake swarms too (the recent series around Yorba Linda comes to mind)....but not like this.

Earthquake Report is now listing this as “moderately dangerous.”
