Although the ad got a lot of playtime on MSNBC Friday, a recent so-called “Republican women for Obama” video advertisement has turned out to be a disingenuous campaign ploy.
That ad, posted on the official Barack Obama campaign YouTube page on Friday, claimed to show a group of women that had previously voted Republican but later abandoned the party because they felt it went too far to the right, leaving them no alternative but to vote for President Barack Obama this November.
The problem is, so far two of these women have been shown to be Democrats who had previously supported Obama.
First pointed out by Zeke Miller of Buzzfeed, one of the featured actors in the video, Maria Ciano had been a registered Democrat since October 2006, according to Colorado voter registration records.
John Hinderaker of Powerline took it a step further and investigated Ciano’s Facebook page and found some of her Facebook “likes” fall under many left-on-center causes:

But Hinderaker also discovered that Ciano’s mother, Delia Ciano is another one of the women in the ad, who also has a history of pro-Obama support on her Facebook as well.

I’m shocked that the Obama campaign would resort to lies in their ads. I’m further shocked that the MSM didn’t point out these lies.
If the Romney campaign had done this it would be a news story this morning on all the TV networks.

Of course. Republicans consistently appeal to the truth. Any misstep is proof of their hypocrisy. Truth for democrats, as Debbie W recently made clear, is not important. Only their claims for the moral high ground are important. They "want women to know" that Republicans will keep them barefoot and pregnant. Never mind that Democrat policies keep minority women barefoot and pregnant as a survival tactic.
It is perfectly legal to have lies in ads, and millions more people will see the ads on TV than will ever read the proof that they are lies. Therefore it works. That’s how propaganda words. (Hitler sent out notification on September 1 1939 that Poland had just attacked Germany. Having words spoken on mass media didn’t make them true then either.)
They were just “composite” Republican women...
In this country, you can call yourself just about any darned thing you want to. In some instances, it is a matter of walking in the front door, laying down some cash, and collecting some card that is “proof” that you are thus and such, and therefore has as much validity as anybody else who may have come in with sincere desire and devotion in heart for a particular cause.
Then, as an “insider”, the saboteur engages on carrying back tales and plausible statements about the “unfitness” of the organization, and the goals they aspire to, and even some inside information of more personal nature about some of the other membership, for opposition research.
And that is how we get Muslims established in the White House, the State Department, and the military. Nobody will stand up and counteract the effects of “political correctness”.
Much like Joe McCarthy and the infiltration of high levels of our government by agents of the Soviet Union and international Communism. He found it, he revealed to some extent how deeply they had penetrated, and he was excoriated unto death and beyond for daring to pull back the blinds that had been carefully set up for the most of thirty years previous.
And now certain persons been covering for the Islamic jihadists much like there had been cover for Communism years earlier. This intense effort to subvert our country to Islam has been going on since about the time of Jimmy Carter.
When are we going to clean house? Or shall we NEVER get around to many necessary chores?

Every democrat / Obama / liberal ad featuring any anecdotal story - republican women going for Obama, Doctors who love Obamacare, the guy who blames Romney because his wife died of cancer - should be vetted. They do this ALL THE TIME.
It’s like the liberals took the “fake but accurate” scenario that ended Dan Rather’s career and said “hey, that could work.” and employ that approach on every scenario they can find.
I told her that calling herself a former Republican is meaningless since she has voted Democrat and held liberal beliefs all along.
