As the economy sputters along, consumers are feeling the squeeze in their annual paychecks.
That's according to Sentier Research, whose latest report found household incomes have been declining ever since the recovery began in June 2009.
The numbers are striking: Yearly household income dwindled by 4.8 percent between June 2009 and 2012 from $53,508 to $50,964, although several types of households fared much worse than that.
"Based on our data, almost every group is worse off now than it was three years ago, with the exception of households with householders 65-years-old and over," said researcher Gordon Green.

Compared to 2008 people are much worse off now. There is NO Recovery. It is just MSM propaganda.
I know I am worse off.
Obama told everyone that he was a fighter and wanted into the ring. The dipstick Democrats put him in the ring, and all he’s done is put his hands over his head while running around the outside of the ring screaming “It’s Bush’s fault!” while his toadies rob the box office.
Yeah, but Obama sure is a nice guy!
I KNOW MINE IS!..............
Look for a possible blowout win for Romney/Ryan.
My household actually is better off, but certainly not the country. And it certainly is in spite of Obama.
What do you mean, almost everyone?
In the past three years, there of been many opportunities for those who know how to save and invest, and quite a few people took advantage of them. They’re not all high-income earners, either.
Personally, I admit that income is down slightly, but net worth is strongly up.
I already told every person i know that if they want to vote for Othug to never talk to me again and I really would not remotely miss their friendship as a result.
I’m that serious about this freak in the WH and ousting him in Nov.
I am about the same day to day since zero came in, but have taken losses like everyone with the values of savings, retirement and the home.
I lost my house, my job, my car, wife lost her job too. In treasure about $200,000.00 at least. Now Part time work, a cheap rental and living off the dollar store can goods. We are coming back—but its a struggle. I know Obama isn’t responsible for all of it but he has prevented a recovery with his wild plans and lack of leadership. I know we can blame him for high gas prices! If he would have put in the pipeline and permitted drilling in the gulf the prices would be lower.
I wonder how Peggy is doing these days?
I love the pundits who say we are headed for another recession. We never got out of the last one.
I understand that the Obama family is doing MUCH BETTER these past years, than they have ever done before.
Yet since Jan 2009 I’ve not once seen in the MSM:
“Recovery for Wall $treet but not Main Street”
wonder why?
(apparently that phrase went into the media storage locker with “homeless problem” and “McJobs”)
I dunno; the ODrama household have taken who-knows-how-many vacations; she’s wearing clothes that cost as much as new roof every other day, handbags that would feed a family fo 4 for a month; he’s flying to hell and beyond.
You, I believe, are in the minority. Most of the people I know are much worse off, or at least living on the edge.
Vote Obama and double the trouble!
