Democrats -- including former Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) -- are planning to show up in force at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte on Sept. 4 to challenge the lock that Planned Parenthood and pro-abortion activists seem to have on the Democratic Party.
Democrats for Life of America (DFLA) says the Democratic Party needs to be more "diverse" and "inclusive" on the issue of abortion.
The pro-life Democrats' group plans to showcase Pro-life Democratic leaders in the political, academic, and religious fields who have spent years standing up for pro-life values and continue to fight for life today.
Stupak -- who led pro-life members of Congress in challenging the Obamacare law in 2009 only to vote in favor of passing the final bill - will also join with former Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper (D-Pa.) and other pro-life Democrats in leading a panel discussion titled, Can You be Pro-Life in a Pro-Choice Party?

I believe that soon they'll be 3 political parties in the US....a far left (the pro-death DEMOCRATS), the moderates (the pro-life Democrat/moderate Republicans) and the Right (Conservative Party).
Unfortunately, when it happens we'll be having more elections. (I don't think we'll have a majority of votes with 3 parties).
There could be demonstrations that would dwarf the 1968 Chicago riots and not one word will be spoken, nor one image shown on the MSM during the Enemy Convention. It will be potrayed as a Zero love-fest.
Stupak (and Mollohan of WV and about 12 other allegedly “pro-life Democrats”) are absolutely NOT honorable merely because they claim to be pro-life. The moment that they voted for the pro-death Obamacare bill which passed very narrowly (219-212) due to their handful of votes, they immediately became collaborators in every abortion that this law will facilitate for decades to come, unless it is repealed by people who really ARE pro-life. They had their chance to show that they were pro-life and did the dishonorable thing. Did you know that Stupak traded his vote for $100,000,00 for some new federal building in his district?
Thanks cripplecreek.
I used to know the DFLA leaders and members, back around 2000. Some of them had been praying at abortion clinics and working on behalf of pro-life charities for years. Beautiful people.
But the party hates these people and marginalizes them. They kept hanging on the the belief that 40% of Democrats are pro-life, hoping more pro-life folks would bubble up to the surface, especially if they did some grass roots development.
Not happening. As the party becomes the party of abortion and gays, the only pro-life people left in it would be some of the teachers and government employees. They seem to have no power in their unions to even make a proposal of having the union take a “no position” stance on life issues.
Also, when the Blue Dogs disbanded, there went a lot of the pro-life Democratic members of Congress.
As long as Sebelius is in the government, there is no good argument that Democratic Party is anything but hostile to the unborn.
It would be better for the unborn if there were pro-life people of influence in both parties, but that is not attainable in today’s Democratic Party. DFLA is wasting time and money trying.
