And that was also legal prior to Roe v Wade.

health of mother is distinguished from life of mother now, paleo. It wasn’t thought believable in the past that a Planned Parenthood counselor would encourage a young woman to get an abortion for “emotional tremblings”, a psychological “health” matter, but they are on film encouraging a young woman to get an abortion in order to do sex selection.

You know that.

So we have an AP story about a SeeBS interview that helps Obama's campaign steer the campaign toward the "war on women" and away from the economy, and Freepers gleefully bite.

Brilliant.

P.S. abb...have you deleted your "Dinosaur Media" list yet? It still has complete control over the gullible public.

> Romney says abortion legal for mother’s health

If Romney thinks that he can pull votes away from abortionist Obama with such talk, he’s dead wrong.

Obama was not in this interview, SP, it was Mitt Romney.

In the ROMNEY interview, ROMNEY said he supports abortion for “health of the mother” in addition to “life of the mother.”

Anything can be construed as “health” related, SP. You know that.

Why are you trying to defend this? Speak up against it. Have him back down.

I agree with you completely.

It’s a fact that the word health has been stretched by some to mean virtually anything, but I don’t agree that this is necessarily what Romney means and I certainly don’t see any evidence of this is the article that was posted.

Sickens me how the rats have changed the actual killing of one’s own child to be called “women’s health”. How vile, how evil.

Stop. From what I read, the campaign released a clarification about this statement, and it DID NOT include the controversial “health” language.

When they are talking abou health—they are also talking about mental or emotional health which is a very big loophole. Any woman can claim emotional distress as an excuse to abort the baby. Now physical health is different. If the mother could physically die as a result of giving birth, I say save the mother over the child. But in America, with modern medicine —how many women actually die in this fashion? (DIE IN CHILDBIRTH)... ESPECIALLY WHEN THE MEDICAL CARE IS NOT SHODDY.

Even today women die in childbirth,{ very small percent}. So a woman could at anytime demand an abortion, for health and life reasons. Exactly what we have now, Abortion on demand. Now we can also add gender selection as a reason for abortion . { I will be so depressed if I have another boy }It is not just opening doors it is knocking down all walls.

>THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

If you are trying to eliminate the women and independent vote that kind of statement will certainly do it.

Perhaps there really is a desire to elect every democrat on the tickets and relegate the GOP to extinction?

Any mother who kills their own child to save their own is a selfish person.

Is this a serious statement? You honestly believe that a woman should chose death?

What if it is due to rape or incest? Should she chose death because a violent criminal impregnated her?

If you are serious - please do not respond. You are obviously demented and there is no point speaking with you.

Why don’t Republicans quit even talking about abortion? It’s a no-win topic.

I'm not saying you are, but think: If you were a false screen name for Axelrod, how would you post ANYTHING different from what you're doing here?

AXELROD as XZINS: "Hey PSSSST! Everyone! Get away from the economics threads! Ignore that Unemployment report! Forget Fast And Furious! Ignore ALL that stuff! Romney said "health and life" instead of "life" and we should crucify him for it! C'mon Freepers! Let's charge forth and focus on things consistent with the "war on Women" theme!!!!

It’s a fact that the word health has been stretched by some to mean virtually anything,

It's been stretched by the United States Supreme Court to mean virtually anything:

"the medical judgment may be exercised in the light of all factors - physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman's age - relevant to the well-being of the patient. All these factors may relate to health." - Doe v Bolton, January 22, 1973 (the same day as Roe v. Wade)

but I don’t agree that this is necessarily what Romney means

Either he knows the history of the "health" exception, in which case his lack of clarity is deliberate duplicity - or he doesn't, in which case he is shockingly ignorant about this vital issue.

I am 1 million percent serious! In fact, I would LOVE for Akin to be our Presidential Nominee. He is a hero in the war on life. You obviously are very liberal.

Perhaps there really is a desire to elect every democrat on the tickets and relegate the GOP to extinction?

You betcha! This thread is a perfect example of the circular firing squad.

There's so much chaos you can't even see that we both completely agree.

I SAID: "Excuse me? How can Romney have some exception to a ban if there is no ban? ... THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS."

In other words, there is currently no such thing as an exception to the ban on abortion because there is no damn ban on abortion!!!!!

Therefore it doesn't matter wtf any Republican candidate is "for" or "against" because IT DOES NOT MATTER AS LONG AS ROE V. WADE IS IN EFFECT.

12 million babies were murdered during Ronald Reagan's 8 years. He was "against" abortion (after he was FOR it in California.) SO WHAT?! What did that have to do with the fact that Carter had to go!? NOTHING.
