A deaf 3-year-old from Nebraska is being asked by the school district to change his name, his family alleges, because the way he refers to himself in sign language resembles “weapons.”
Apparently the Grand Island school district has a policy that prevents students from bringing “any instrument…that looks like a weapon” to school, and now hands can be considered “instruments.”
“Anybody that I have talked to thinks this is absolutely ridiculous. This is not threatening in any way,” Hunter Spanjer’s grandmother Janet Logue said.
Brian Spanjer, the boy’s father, added: “It’s a symbol. It’s an actual sign, a registered sign, through S.E.E. [Signing Exact English]”
Hunter signs his name by crossing his middle and index fingers– leaving his thumbs up– and then wagging his hands.

This is NEBRASKA, where they vote 70/30 Republican for president. This state is more conservative than TEXAS!!!
Anyone that STILL think that they have some kind of ‘control’ over their ‘wonderful’ public schools (as a LOT of conservatives claim) needs to watch this clip.
AGAIN - this is NEBRASKA, it is NOT New York or California.
If ANYTHING proves that conservatives (or even just plain Americans) are TOTALLY LOCKED out of control of public schools, this article is it.

If this were my kid and the school did this to me, I’d be suing the school for BIG discrimination. I would make the biggest stink about it too, go on every talk show, tell every newspaper, show this school for the embarrassment that it is. Make them sorry they even THOUGHT of this insane “rule”.

Why are they locking up veterans in mental hospital, when obviously the bulk of the looney tooners run the school systems.
If the kid’s name was not Hunter, then this would not be an issue. That is what the real problem is!

Think about this, the elft wants special rights for homosexuals because they like to get off in unnatural ways.
They fight and sue vioter ID laws because they want illegals but have no clue about the word illegal so they cahnge it to undocumentated.
We have this issue
We have schools who think not telling parents when underage kids kill their baby is alright, ignoring the word underage as well.
A DOJ which sues states which enforces laws and ignores places which breaks the laws.
They say guns kill but can;t understand guns have a trigger which is pulled by someone
The list is endless but this crap of not letting kids play with guns, or mention guns in school, or even play cops and robbers or cowboy or indians is dwn right stupid
What is even scary is that whilst we have loons saying all of this we also have a media which covers for them and millions who just go along with this agenda and never once thinking about what they support or they put emotion into this
I believe, by extension, that the symbols, “W-E-A-P-O-N”, taken together, may also make one think of a weapon, and should likewise be banned.
