The University of California (UC) – Berkeley student healthcare plan includes coverage of up to $75,000 for students who wish to undergo a sex-change operation, a trove of documents obtained on Monday by Campus Reform reveals.

According to the 2012-13 UC Berkeley Student Health Insurance Plan Benefits Booklet, the public university will fund 90 percent of the controversial operation or up to $75,000.

UC Berkeley’s healthcare plan covers up to $75,000 for students who would like to undergo a sex-change operation.

The school will also fund “hormone therapy” and “gender confirmation (reassignment) surgery” as well as well as “certain travel costs” for the operation due to a “limited number of providers” in the area.

Can you have the operation more than once?

Or does the plan discriminate against those who might want to change back and forth?

They won’t be able to do this for long.

This is approximately what total knee replacement costs for folks with OA or RA. Guess who gets treated? This is such an avenue for more billing fraud too. Do really think a SEIU Member is going to care if you suffer?

So if you get yourself into Berkeley, get your subsidized student healthcare, take them for $75,000 (or at least their health insurance provider, who will raise costs for all students dramatically) then quit, you basically saved a lot of money on your “sex change” operation. Being that Berkeley can be difficult to get into, this will surely make all those that wish to have a sex change study more and get those SAT scores up!

How freaking ridiculous.

I don't mean to scare California freepers, because I'm sure they're good folks, but my guess is California doesn't have much time. I think in October (around the 11th-23rd?) they'll be feeling an awakening. It may not be the big cleansing that's on the way, but there's going to be a warning. Better listen to it and have a bug out plan just in case.

[And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues."(Revelation 18:4)]

If that’s how Californians want to spend their tax money, fine with me. Go all out!

But there better not be any Federal funds involved in this.

which is money provided by the state...

which gets money from the fedgov when they run short...

which steals money, under threat of violence, from the 20% of the population paying the bill... from all states and overseas.

this is the dem trick. they jack up spending knowing my money will be ‘redistributed’ to them

and the GOPe, having been in control for 18 months, has done nothing to stop it. if you think they have... check the national debt and spending levels

no private plan could do this, because they’d go broke, since the premiums couldn’t cover the costs of elective procedures like this.

But because it’s government, apparently we can give money away. And what a deal. If you want a $75,000 sex-change operation, all you need to do is get accepted into berkely, and pay for one semester (and get $2500 back from the feds). Then you get your operation, and quit.

And the more this kind of thing is covered, the more it is encouraged, and we are seeing the effects already - not just the minority which are born truly “intersexed” but those who were born one definite gender but become “transgender” through cultural suasion and have the surgeries. A real mess brought about by advocates who are themselves very confused.
