Robert Gibbs: ‘Angry’ night ‘full of insults’ By: Kevin Cirilli August 29, 2012 12:06 AM EDT

In Tampa to lead the pushback for President Barack Obama’s campaign, top adviser Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that the first night of the Republican National Convention was “angry” and “strange” and “full of insults.”

“I’m kind of flabbergasted at the whole night,” Gibbs said on MSNBC after Gov. Chris Christie’s keynote speech. “It seemed first and foremost like this was a very angry convention tonight full of insults.”

He said that the night’s speakers, including House Speaker John Boehner, did not capture the struggles most Americans — particularly women — are facing.

“It bore just no real resemblance to what’s going on in their party. It bore no real resemblance to what’s going on in the country. I think it was a very, very strange night,” he said, later adding, “The night was sort of highlighted by lots of anger and lots of insults.”

“I’m kind of flabbergasted at the whole night...”

He's kind of a dimwitted flabbergasted guy.

Christie was told to dial down his keynote speech.

I'm waiting for him to get out to the heartland and let loose.

Well-deserved insults. Obama has been insulting women since he’s been in office. He thinks we’re all about government dependence, abortions and contraceptives. Every republican woman on that stage last night knows better. They certainly represented me and the conservative women I know. I’m proud to be one of them. What’s the rat convention going to be about? Free birth control pills, food stamps and a two hour islamic prayer-fest with muslim men would put women in burkas, deny them driving privileges and send us back to the stone age? Last night’s Republican women drew a stark difference between us and them.

We’re all angry, Gibbs. We WANT our candidates to be angry at what Obama and his ilk have done to our beloved country.

We’re angry at you too, for coding his Marxist behavior and defending his failures.

If you think facts are “insults”, you are either just stupid, or a major cog in the propaganda machine.

You ain’t seen nuthin’ yet Bobby Boy...the adults the next 2 nights will be painting Obama as the celebrity POTUS with the happy charge card (”what’s in your wallet”), and the DNC as the party unwilling to confront the cold hard facts of needed fiscal reform.

There will be no sign of the vicious slander, character assassination and lies that have characterized the Obama campaign so far.

Well, if there is, Fats Gibbs certainly won't notice it...

I agree so much. The people who are speaking need to reach people and not worry about the media. The left/media will say its all angry regardless. R&R better understand that they need to go after zerO’s record hard and set out a plan for the economy. After all this election is about the economy...it always is.

“The last few months the DNC sure gives the impression that they really, REALLY are out for the woman vote.”

They have staked everything on the “war on women” card.
