GOP glad to rid themselves of Ron Paul supporters, the move to Libertarian Party

Yesterday the Republican Party elected Mitt Romney as their presidential nominee at their national convention happening this week in Tampa, Florida to face Libertarian Party presidential nominee Gary Johnson and expected Democratic Party presidential nominee Barack Obama in the November 6, 2012 general election. Voting delegates at the convention voted for Romney by a landslide and Ron Paul received a significant number of votes and to a much lesser extent, other Republicans who had dropped or suspended their campaigns.

(read more at the original site.) Before yesterday's nomination process began, Republican Party chairman, Reince Priebus was calling Mitt Romney the nominee facing Barack Obama ignoring the fact he had not yet been elected to be the Republican Party's nominee. Other Republican Party officials did the same before a vote had been cast. Rather than be impartial, as most feel they should be, these Republican Party officials clearly had, and publicly voiced, bias against other nominees in favor of Mitt Romney.

Ron Paul delegates were the most vocal on the convention floor during the nomination process even shouting "Ron Paul" over other Republicans shouting "USA." Eventually Ron Paul supporters walked off the convention floor in protest. By all measures the Republican Party completely disrespected Ron Paul and his supporters.

Ron Paul and his supporters have been a thorn in the side of the Republican Party since before Paul ran for president in 2008 and as Paul's support around the country grew over the last four years to millions of Americans, the thorn was festering within the GOP. The GOP has been at the brunt of many Ron Paul verbal confrontations as Paul exposes the many instances elected Republicans vote against the Republican Party platform and tagline of smaller government. Paul will be highly critical of ...

Perhaps they are glad, as the author asserts. Even if so, what they don't know is that they have moved against and insulted every grassroots activist, every non-joiner", every independent thinker that has typically voted for them but has been growing weary over time. I don't think they have any idea what they have done. And now that they have finally pushed me over the edge, I hope they don't wake up and smell the coffee until it is too late.

Most of them were only using the Republican party because there is more donations and media attention.

Why does it have to just be “Ron Paul supporters”? Doesn’t anyone else but them care about the Constitution and liberty?

Mr. RomneyCARE has disenfranchised the TEA PARTY
and conservatives. This is an attempt to rewrite
history (a Romney specialty).

“Where else you gonna’ go?” Isn’t that what the democrat party says? And now it’s what the republican party says.

Yes, good. Ron Paul supporters were never going to vote for the GOP nominee unless it was Paul (which it had zero chance of being). They hate Romney, but they also detest social conservatives with a passion. Ron Paul brings nothing to the Republican party. The vast majority of his drug addled, conspiracy monger supporters are going to end up voting for Obama or the Libertarian candidate - that is if they can find time to put the bong down.

The rule change fiasco yesterday had little to nothing to do with Ron Paul. It had everything to do with a power-grab. It was just another example of the Elites being Elites. They can’t have the little people thinking they have a say in their Republic.

The GOP lost me years ago, and after last night, I won’t be rushing to vote for them.

I don’t like saying this, but at this point in time, Romney/Ryan is our best hope.

I like Ryan, but don’t think very much of Mitt.

The people claiming its about Ron Paul voters are morons with their heads stuck so far up Mitt’s butt that they have to back up to take a dump.

No! We have to wait another hundred years because, well see, it's a strategic retreat...and...and...we're going to hold feet to the fire. You just wait and see. Not this time, it's too important. And not next time - same reason. But soon! Just keep surrendering for now.

Yep. Very Stalinist. Ron Paul is the Geriatric Old Plotters’ straw man analog to Trotsky. Heh. We are all Trotskyite wreckers and saboteurs now.

Paul is an equal opportunity whack job. His support going elsewhere hurts Obama at least as much as Romney.

Paul is using the GOP as a platform for his nutty ideas since the Libertarian party can’t get any traction.

What we have with BO is America’s fast track vs. Romney’s torturous path of slow destruction. As Rush stated the elited Republicans are pro amnesty which will be the nail in America’s coffin.

Yes, and they call the winner of the election the "president elect" before the Electoral College votes too. What a crock full of phoney outrage.
