RE :”And that phony Indian tracker friend.....
.....
That was Bruce Cabot -— the guy who saved Fay Wray from King Kong.

' Cahill U.S. Marshal (1973) ' and Neville Brand played Lightfoot not whoever.

I guess when he got that part it must have been like when Joan Collins could only get acting jobs that required her to take off her clothes, or another worst movie of all time : Empire of the Ants where she had to walk through a swamp with a giant ant make believe head poking at her, LOL, you gotta see that one.

Or when poor Bella Legosi had to take Plan 9 from Outer Space, the absolute worst movie of all time. Poor Bella died before his scenes were completed and unlike the character he played in that Turkey he didnt rise as the undead to finish the job.

I felt sorry for poor Bella ending that way.

Tom Selleck is one of “us”, I believe. If he showed up, I’d be really, really happy. :)

I know a ton of actors. For all but a very few of them the last decades are sad and empty. The same goes for directors. Once the phone has stopped ringing panic then depression take over.

You'd be surprised how little you have to pay some very well known actors -- if they haven't worked in for a while.

One guy in particular comes to mind. He was a series star, a film tough guy (second or third lead) and actually directed two films. The last time I saw him he had not worked in over a year. I drove by his house in Santa Monica and saw him sitting in old sweats and un-shaven on his front steps drinking a beer - at eleven in the morning.

I doubt that Sarah Palin will ever run for the Senate or any other federal office. I also believe she has no interest in serving in some cabinet position. Her strength, other than as president, is in rallying the tea party/small government conservatives into action. In other words, she can best serve as a thorn in the side of all entrenched self-serving political elites.

“Eastwood is about 10000 times more famous and likely to make an impact than the kid from Growing Pains.”

Very true. But Cameron and his wife are an amazing couple and have a wonderful family story to tell. They’re involved in the pro-life movement in their area of California. Although it’s true that he’s “the kid from ‘Growing Pains’”, he’s more than that. His life has taken a new, better direction.

Clint has more recognition, of course, and would be more influential.

Alnold Swartzenneger wasn’t available. He could have called the democrats “girlie men.” Oh, wait A.S. is a girlie man Democrat rino poser.
BTW I can hardly wait for Actor Eastwood to say, “go ahead make my day”

I guess there’s not much harm it can do, but I can’t see it helping much. Maybe some seniors will identify with Eastwood. Just hope it doesn’t come off as lame.

“Maybe Clint will be joined by a group of prominent entertainers who “will come out of the closet” to stand up for liberty and our country’s future...”

Not sure how true, but I’ve heard that some Hollywood conservatives are Tom Selleck, Bruce Willis, Kurt Russell, Heather Locklear, Shannen Doherty, Robert Duvall. Of course, there’s Dennis Miller.

Agree with all this. Yes, Palin does have to earn money, esp. after some of the legal crap she had to deal with. Yes, she does appear to have a better shot a bringing in a lot of money than Todd does.

My only point---and I make it for people like Alan Keyes who perpetually runs for jobs he can never hold---is that as a senator, she would have to vote on bills that, by their very nature, have good things and bad things. How many defense budgets in 2004 or 2004 had some crappy social program the Dems wanted in order to get a vote or two? Well, some Republicans had to vote for that. It's the nature of a seat in a body of 100 other people. That's the only point I'm making.

but then again as was said here-you don’t want someone to steal Romney’s thunder (if there is any) right before he is to speak

I’m thinking “whatever it takes” to remove Obama.

Ditto here... that's why I was thinking an appearance to the closest connection to the Reagan era would gin up a lot more excitement. Eastwood would be a decent choice, but it seems in recent years his voice is down to a raspy whisper. Hard to see how he'd fire anyone up.

R. Lee Ermey would be a great choice!!!
