This one point out of that devastating barrage of truth-telling by Paul Ryan is the talking point of the Left today. Mitt Romney should give the timeline of this particular closing in his speech tonight, making clear that Ryan has first-hand knowledge of the facts, while the Left’s talking heads in the media are trying to undermine his excellent reputation.
Oh please, Romney doesn’t need to do that. He shouldn’t do that.
And why not? They continuously peddle lies as truth.
This fits my perspective with the difference between the two campaigns that are being waged. When the right points out Obama lies, the left bleats that Romney does it too. This is utter BS! OK, both sides do sometimes play loose with the facts...always have. But the Obamatrons are now totally ignoring the truth, making up shi’ite as they go along, and saying that facts are lies. And of course the libtard media lovingly enable.
Sickening.
Let’s also contrast the state of Ford Motor Company that did not receive the blessings of Obama’s magnificence with the state of General Motors. There’s your control in that experiment. Obama wasted how many billions and screwed over how many people in his “rescue” of GM? /rhetorical
obamacare a Debate?
These are “Action Items” and they bloody well better act on it
Great post. Rush has said it often. Our side really does want people to know what we really believe. The other side tries to hide what they really believe.
The RATS love to lie to their base. You have to do that when the truth is not on your side. And they have lots of stupid sheeple to whom they have to lie to retain power.
Right now, the federal government owns 500,000,000 shares of GM, or about 26% of the company. It would need to get about $53.00/share for these to break even on the bailout, but the stock closed at only $20.21/share on Tuesday. This left the government holding $10.1 billion worth of stock, and sitting on an unrealized loss of $16.4 billion.
Right now, the governments GM stock is worth about 39% less than it was on November 17, 2010, when the company went public at $33.00/share. However, during the intervening time, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has risen by almost 20%, so GM shares have lost 49% of their value relative to the Dow.
Its doubtful that the Obama administration would attempt to sell off the governments massive position in GM while the stock price is falling. It would be too embarrassing politically. Accordingly, if GM shares continue to decline, it is likely that Obama would ride the stock down to zero."............

Auto World - Aug 28, 2012: Obama, DOT, EPA Issue New 54.5 MPG Standard for Cars Built in 2025 ........""The fuel efficiency standards the administration finalized today are another example of how we protect the environment and strengthen the economy at the same time," said EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson. "Innovation and economic growth are already reinvigorating the auto industry and the thousands of businesses that supply automakers as they create and produce the efficient vehicles of tomorrow. Clean, efficient vehicles are also cutting pollution and saving drivers money at the pump."
President Obama claims the support of Ford, GM, Chrysler, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar/Land Rover, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, and Volvo for his plan. The Administration also says that the United Auto Workers, the State of California, and various environmental groups have helped see the plan - first announced in July of 2011 - become a reality."
For the record:
Who knows the date that the plant closed? Specifically, was it after Obama become President or before?
1. On February 13, 2008 Obama said in Janesville : I believe that if our government is there to support you, and give you the assistance you need to re-tool and make this transition, that this plant will be here for another hundred years.
2. In June 2008 GM announced that the Janesville plant would stop production of medium-duty trucks by the end of 2009, and stop production of large SUVs in 2010 or sooner.
3. In October 2008 Obama doubled down on his promise to keep Janesville plant open: As president, I will lead an effort to retool plants like the GM facility in Janesville so we can build the fuel-efficient cars of tomorrow and create good-paying jobs in Wisconsin and all across America.
4. In December 2008 GM idled production of GM SUVs at the Janesville plant. Medium-duty truck assembly continued.
5. In April 2009, four months after Obama was inaugurated, GM idled production of medium-duty trucks.
6. In September 2011, more than two years after Obama was inaugurated, GM reiterates that Janesville plant is on stand by status. Auto industry observer David Cole, tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel it would be premature to say the Janesville plant will never reopen.
6. Today the GM facility in Janesville still has not been retooled so we can build the fuel-efficient cars of tomorrow and create good-paying jobs, as Obama promised.
It was a mistake for the left to pick this issue to call Ryan a liar. Since it is true, this will give Ryan, et al, the oppor tunity to keep the issue alive in the press. He should make a big deal out of this with daily reports, video of the cloised plant, interviews with the displaced workers and how they are now suffering, etc etc. This is the economic issue that needs the people touch that can be played for weeks. Let’s hope the RNC see this issue and statements as the gifts that they are.
Yes.
And its not that Ryan blamed Obama for it closing. He didnt. He made it an example of the promises and hopes of Obama that have not been fulfilled.
Middle America gets it. Obama failed. Ryan’s excellent speech laid out how Obama failed and how he’s running on fumes.
Ann Romney had the best line of last night: “The man will not fail.”
That’s the election, folks: Obama failed, Romney won’t.
Great info! Thanks!
I think you have satisfied the “for the record” requirement.
Much thanks.
