An international coalition of churches representing more than half a billion Christians will meet in Geneva next month to take up the plight of an 11-year-old Christian girl who faces execution under Pakistan’s blasphemy laws.

The World Council of Churches called the meeting to discuss Pakistan’s brutal blasphemy laws and, in particular, the case of Rimsha Masih. Masih, who is believed to have Down syndrome, has been in jail for allegedly burning pages from a book containing Islamic scripture. The case has generated international condemnation, but the fundamentalist firebrands behind her imprisonment seem immune to criticism, much less diplomatic efforts.

Well, if it were up to the morooon in our White House, he’d’ve had her aborted a long time ago, and there’d be no issue.

"...but the fundamentalist firebrands behind her imprisonment seem immune to criticism, much less diplomatic efforts."

Another reason why the entire lot of 'fundamentalist firebrands' need to be exterminated. Along with their followers.

Maybe someone should alert that pastor, what's his name, Terry Jones, to fire up the grill.

Christian leaders in this country should meet with Muslim clerics in the USA to put quiet pressure on them to pressure their Pakistani co-religionists to stop these human rights abuses. I am not being naive, they probably won’t come to the defense of persecuted Christians but at least it will flush them out of hiding and make them take a stand on these human rights issues. It will make Muslims in the United States realize that they are on our turf and have to answer to us. They will begin to realize that not all of us buy into their taquiyah. The Muslim clerics in the US will have to talk this over with the clerics in the Muslim countries and they will begin to feel push back even in Muslim countries such as Pakistan. This will probably be the first time that anyone has ever put them on the spot. In Muslim countries the mullahs are the spoiled princes who can do whatever they want without having to answer to anyone. Now that there are many Muslims in Western countries they may stop and think about the safety of Muslims in the Western world. Christians in the Islamic world are the hostages of the Muslims, now that there are many Muslims living in Christian countries the thought might cross their minds that they may be one day hostages in Western lands. This thought will either make them begin to buckle to Western pressure or they will go jihad and reveal their true colors sooner rather than later. If they go jihad in Western countries, those countries will have no problem evicting them as soon as possible. Sooner or later the Muslims will make their move in the Western world, as soon as they have a large enough population. Better they make their move sooner rather than latter since the longer they remain, the more numbers and power they will have in the Western countries.

From what I hear from Pakistanis it is tough to be mentally or physically handicapped in that country ~ and there are millions who would gladly murder an afflicted child.

The primitive belief systems that actually prevail among the broad masses are that if you are born with an injury or Downs syndrome, that sort of thing, you are being punished for sins in a previous life.

That belief also makes it quite convenient for the poor to dispose of children they cannot care for due to birth defects.

The way to deal with the situation is to simply pull this young woman and her family out of planet Earth's foremost outdoor slum and hellhole ~ and kill a lot of them on the way out just to make sure they get the message.

Remember, it's one thing to be poor and dirty; it's quite another to be poor, dirty, uncivilized and vicious.

.
Why should this pressure be quiet?

Doesn’t evil need to be exposed for all to see, or must we continue to treat islam with the deference it does not deserve? It’s no wonder the cult spreads like wildfire in this country.

Well, I wasn't thinking of deference to them but rather turning the screws on them. By quietly, I mean, not like Rev. Jones with this koran burning because, I think, it plays into the Muslim psychology. If you attack them in a very direct way, then they go into victim mode and they feel morally superior which the traitorous Western press is eager to indulge. On the other hand, if you keep pointing out the violence against non-muslims and women, this exposes them to the morality of the Western world. The Muslims are playing a double game, they think that they can keep promoting the barbaric Muslim culture and at the same time play victim to the West and the world. Yell at them and they go into victim mode and play up to the leftist press and they make you look like the bad guy. But if you quietly and insistently keep exposing the horrors of the Islamic world with real evidence then you will keep poking them like a good prosecutor until they either get caught in an outrageous lie or all of the Islamic hubris will come out and they will show the world what they are really like. When I use the word “quietly”, I don't mean wimpy, I mean no yelling but just keep insistently listing all the facts of what goes on in the Islamic world. Christians should play the nice guy part that Muslims have mastered. Invite them to a conference with Christian leaders, make this known to the press. Let the duplicitous press believe that you are ready to drink the Islamic cool aid. During the conference, which of course will be recorded to dvd, you first start out in a friendly and non-accusatory way then as the evening progresses you start to ask them some tough questions.

I wonder how many of our “Christian” congresscritters have the courage to get involved in rescuing this poor girl, because that would be an effective way to draw attention to this case.

I hope our religious leaders will get together and put pressure on congress, the press and the muslim clergy to stand up for this poor girl. It would be interesting to see the muslim clergy squirming in a corner.

Ofhand I don’t know but you might try Voice of the Martyrs. They deal with persecution of Christians.
