That Chair Was Racist (Clint's empty chair was meant to make a black man inconsequential /s)
American Thinker ^ | 08/31/2012 | William L. Gensert

Posted on 08/31/2012 6:46:59 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Who does Clint Eastwood think he is? Having an empty chair next to him on stage while he pretended to talk to a non-existent Barack Obama supposedly sitting in that chair was racism. It was intended to make our President seem small, inconsequential, like a black man who doesn't count -- or counts at most as 3/5 of a person.

Was the empty chair a metaphor for Barack Obama as an empty suit, or an emperor with no clothes? This is clearly code for society's assumption that a black man cannot be taken seriously and is not up to the job.

Towering above the empty chair Eastwood talked down to an imaginary Barack Obama. A black man does not need to be talked down to by a white man, especially a white man who is famous for playing characters always armed and dangerous.

And where does he get off mentioning the President's record of failure? Barack Obama doesn't need a record of success. He is Barack Obama, and that should be enough.

Wait...I'm sure some pundits on the left will make all the arguments above, and maybe throw in the fact that when he called for Obama's firing and drew his hand across his neck it was a coded message for the President's lynching.

"I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before. Tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a citizen - a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world.

I know that I don't look like the Americans who've previously spoken in this great city.Berlin 07/24/08

Campaign speeches:

“They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

"He's got a funny name. You know, he doesn't look like all those other Presidents on those dollar bills, you know. He's risky. That's essentially the argument they're making."

There was only ONE person injecting "race" in the 08 campaign: Barack, Barry, Hussein, Soetoro, Obama.

And if you think it was bad (his handlers and media protecting Dear Reader from criticism by yelling "Racist")in 08, you ain't seen nothing yet!

Amazing how touchy the lefties are becoming. This line from Romney's speech pushed Special Ed a little closer to the edge. Called it a punch below the belt. They are really, really worried about the birth certificate issue. They are seeing references to it when none exist...

"when the world needs someone to do the really big stuff, you need an American."

On another note John Boehner was wasted. Oh my god how embarrassing. He was slurring and swaying when he came out after Romney. Someone needs to send him to dry out.

it was intended to prevent the slave states from running roughshod over the free states in the House of Representatives.

You sure it wasn't the other way around? The free states didn't want to count slaves as part of the population so that they could run roughshod over the slave states?

At first I was REALLY upset to read this in The American Thinker--until I actually READ the article.

It captures the mostly white male LSM mentality PERFECTLY, and shows it for what it is: the phony outrage of fools who "strut their hour upon a stage full of sound and fury--signifying NOTHING!"

Unfortunately, these fool's stage is national! But, then, so was Eastwood's, and the empty chair.

I so thank God for that thought, because it gives me Comfort.

And I also ask God to give the people of this nation who know it is STILL "under God" the courage and wisdom to pray, and seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways, so that He can place a man in that chair who will trust in Him, and Him alone, to "heal" our land!

So, 'chair' is now racist.

We need a running list of things that are now racist or express racism, so we can keep track. There have been so many new ones recently, and undoubtedly, more new ones will be added in the coming weeks.

Maybe, like the Daily Morning Talkingpoints Memo, we can get a Daily Morning List of New Racist Words and Racism Expressions Memo. Or, we could just be referred to all of the words in the current Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.

Thanks, but then SASisters are sharper eyed than most. Had the pleasure of being at the first SAS event in DC. We might have crossed paths as I recall meeting quite a few FReepers then, though I can’t recall all this late.

Here we go again. Liberals deliberately taking offence for an imagined slight. Once again, their self-loathing on display! “Exaggerated sensitiveness is an expression of the feeling of inferiority.” Alfred Adler

I agree! Can you believe this author is SO SENSITIVE to racial stuff that they view a CHAIR as racist???!? They are race-crazy!!!

IMO Clint’s piece was a bit weak, probably from being ad-libbed.

Which shows what I know. Judging from the Lib’s reaction it was a deadly satiric dagger plunged into the back of Obamus Caesar.

Or, we could just be referred to all of the words in the current Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.

It's coming to that.

In Massachusetts, a policeman lost his job because he supposedly called Carl Crawford a "Monday" while he was off-duty watching the Sox game.

For those who haven't heard and want to keep up with the latest racist words to avoid, "Monday" is supposedly a racial epithet because Monday is the most hated day of the week.

At this rate, we'll all have to eschew speaking entirely so as not to offend the self-appointed racism police.
