The stunning portion of this isnt that Touré believes Ryans remark that our rights come from God and nature is offensive, but why he believes its offensive:
(video at link)
Touré: "[Paul Ryan] loves this line of our rights come from God and nature, which is so offensive to so much of America. Because for black people, hispanic people and women, our rights do not come from God or nature. They were not recognized by the natural order of America. They come from the government and from legislation that happens in relatively recent history in America. So that line just bothers me to my core."

Nope; government and others stole those rights, and later government returned them.
If someone steals my car, that I bought, and later returned it, do I owe them thanks for returning it, all the while ignoring the fact that they stole it?
No, but I can read.
I suppose the quote of Rove wanting to kill someone was somehow deemed not newsworthy and was not printed.
They are as clever as they are wrong.
Ah, somebody did indeed find it 'newsworthy and it was printed', how do you think it is even a topic of conversation? I have yet to see any denial by Rove. Have you?
Oh my gosh. So, he believes that they got rights only because they were *given* them by government. So he believes that until that point it was OK that some people were slaves, because it was the law because the government said so? Seriously, that is the logical consequence of what he is saying. Black Americans should be very very afraid of people like this.
What a moron. Sometimes you just have to forget all about PC-ness and tell it the way it is, or ask it the way it is.
So, Toure', what sort of rights do blacks and Hispanics have in nations where they are in the majority? Maybe give us a rundown on that, starting 200+ years ago and coming forward. What sort of "natural order" has and does exist in those places?
And, sorry, but had it not been for slavery, the US African-American population would not exist. They'd be mostly struggling to survive in some of the dollar-a-day economies of west Africa.
LLS
What do those words even mean?
Is he trying to elevate rules created by man above natural law?
Sounds like he's throwing together a jumble of words that appeal to him.
It's a topic of this conversation because I believe you're attributing something to someone that wasn't said. It's akin to twisting words; a common enough tactic for the media, but I don't see it used by posters here very often.
Perhaps we're referring to different quotes. I did a Google search and found this quote (maybe your original source, LiberalRoundup): "We should sink Todd Akin. If hes found mysteriously murdered, dont look for my whereabouts! To be fair, they do characterize the statement as an "off-color joke."
Toure’ if your rights come from the Government then the Government can take them away. They may have been acknowledged by your government into law only because they pre-existed the government.
Now this is why they have a problem with Natural Law - it is not a promoter of Gay Rights and Gay Marriage. God’s Law and Natural Law prohibit Gay Marriage.

Passed by which party class?
I can imagine a nitwit like Toure having a personal conversation with that great constitutional scholar Obama. Toure would make a snide remark about conservatives believing your constitutional rights come from God and nature, and Obama having to tell him that the conservatives are correct. That would be delicious. Of course, Obama could always lie, but I doubt he’d lie to Toure.
Rove apologized!!!!!! I twisted nothing, I attributed nothing, I have no connection to or with the media.... I do not know ‘LiberalRoundup’.
However, you and I have not been discussing Rove's decorum. You wrote that Rove "wanted to kill a pro-life House member." That is NOT what he said.
I will write the quote again, so it's fresh in your memory: "We should sink Todd Akin. If hes found mysteriously murdered, dont look for my whereabouts!"
I erroneously credited LiberalRoundup earlier after an admittedly brief Google search. They apparently had copied an article originally posted at ThinkProgress entitled, Karl Rove Jokes That He Wants To Kill Todd Akin. That title reflects exactly what you said.
Maybe you have access to a secret "smoking gun" audiotape with a more damning quote in which Rove expresses his desire to kill Akin. If so, please transcribe it, print it here, and enlighten everyone.
To: FoxInSocks below in reverse order are the only comments I have made... to you... not one time did I quote Rove or attribute words or meanings of words.
