Washington, D.C. -- Senator Reid released the following statement on the visit by Governor Mitt Romney to survey the damage from Hurricane Isaac in Louisiana:
“Under a Romney-Ryan administration, we would not have been prepared to respond to Hurricane Isaac. If Paul Ryan and his fellow House Republicans had succeeded in blocking disaster relief last fall, there would have been no aid for the victims of Isaac today. And Paul Ryan’s budget would gut disaster funding, making it much harder to get aid to our fellow Americans in their time of need.
“It is the height of hypocrisy for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to make a pretense of showing sympathy for the victims of Hurricane Isaac when their policies would leave those affected by this disaster stranded and on their own.
“This is yet another example of Mitt Romney’s extreme right wing agenda, which asks middle class families to sacrifice in order to protect millionaires and billionaires from paying their fair share.”
C’mon really?
This isn’t one of those satire/fake statements but actually real?
Their rhetoric is so formulaic it’s really hard to tell anymore if it’s real or satire.

I believe it was a slow moving Cat 1. It appears NOLA was spared flooding but many outlying areas got flooded, some areas entire houses under water. I haven’t heard the MSM cover it much, so it must be a conservative area.
But Harry, you’re an “undocumented” millionaire, where did you get all of your money?
And before you flap your pie hole about any spending, or legislation, where’s YOUR budget?
This damage control because Obama put campaigning before the flood victims is the only transparent thing the obamagang has done lately.

Reid had two statements in the can. This is the one labeled, “Romney DOES visit Isaac-stricken areas.”
The other one excoriated Romney for heartlessly continuing to campaign, while Obama DID visit.
Reid is beneath contempt. Since when did the office of the Senate Majority Leader properly feel any need to use its budget and manpower as an in-kind contribution to his party’s current presidential candidate? This has NOTHING to do with current Senate business.
What next, Reid? How about a bill to just print $100M and send it to Obama For America 2012?
