Yup, Romney took the opportunity, now that the fix was in, to reiterate his true position on abortion rights. Guess that makes all his RTL Mittbots fools, and now liars.

YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE HER AND HER FAMILY SUFFER MORE

Not necessarily. See my #56.

“I’m pro-life but I also don’t think a woman should be forced to carry a rapists child to term that was conceived at gunpoint. For most, that visit to the Emergency Room and the medication given will prevent the pregnancy in the earliest possible time frame”.

Agreed, a rapist is an evil person and passing that offspring should not be forced upon the victim.

Look, a rape happens ~ two people walk away alive, and one dies. You're undoubtedly all for killing the baby, but what about the rapist?

I have yet to find a single person who favors that rape exception who wants to also execute the rapist. So why is it you prefer rapists before babies?

You guys are ignoring the bombshell here, the ‘health of mother’ position is a pure, pro-abortion position, and he only reverted back to his pro-abortion position this week, after clinching the nomination.

“Health” is how they got us in the 1960s, the general public of the time didn’t know that health included everything, it was (and is) a euphemism for ‘abortion on demand’.

To come out as still pro-abortion after all the incredible levels of lying since 2005, and to claim that he openly campaigned as a ‘health of mother’ abortion advocate during the primary campaign, the campaign that we were all deeply involved in, and for which we know every detail and nuance, is a story of such mendacity that this is a time for serious conservative discussion of what this man is, and what he can do to conservatism.

If conservatism exists, then this bombshell should be THE current subject of conservative discussion, this is an explosive revelation and insight into his intent.

It seems to me that the conception part is part of the rape. Isn’t that what sex is all about? One could argue that the “innocent child” is an accessory after the fact to the crime.

I consider myself to be staunchly pro-life. I’ve never supported a rape/incest exception, but I have always supported a life of the mother exception. When it’s about whether or not you could die, I think that actually should be a choice that women should make and live with the consequences. Who am I to force someone to potentially sacrifice their life for someone else? I suspect most would make the heroic decision anyway if faced with that choice...but I’m curious whether this makes me insufficiently pro-life in your eyes?

And let’s not forget the alternative to Romney is Obama, who is for abortion in all circumstances. In addition he is behind a bill that says when the baby survives an abortion a physician should be assigned to finish the job (infanticide>.

My wife was overpowered and raped at knife point. She conceived, and had a wonderful baby boy who has been a blessing to us every day of his twelve years, but had my wife decided to abort, I would have been no less behind her decision. I don't give a damn what any pious soul thinks about it, and I am pro life. ...There are children who have been born, even though the mother's life was lost, and I respect and admire the women who make that ultimate decision, but I would never presume to tell a woman that her life and death decision isn't hers to make. Quite frankly, if my thoughts on this make too impure to associate in the company of people who have probably never had to make these decisions, so be it. Go and enjoy your third party, or have the courage of your convictions, and vote for Obama.

EternalVigilance, as a man of honor--Honest Tom Hoefling, if you will--you really ought to include a truthful disclaimer on all of these threads you are posting. Perhaps it could go something like this:

DISCLAIMER: I, "EternalVigilance," namely, Tom Hoefling, am running for President, and that is why I am posting this thread, i.e., in order to get you to support me. True, there is not the slightest chance that I will get even one electoral vote, let alone carry even one precinct in these United States. And true, if Obama edges Romney by a handful of votes in a crucial swing state, I may have contributed to Obama's re-election. Also, you will note that I post only threads that attack the Romney-Ryan ticket, not the Obama-Biden ticket, even though Romney-Ryan are light years better than Obama-Biden and Romney is our only chance of defeating the Obama administration that is destroying America. I'm Honest Tom Hoefling, aka "EternalVigilance," and I approve this message.

If you force a raped woman to have the rapists baby, YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE HER AND HER FAMILY SUFFER MORE.

Specious nonsense.

Some things are beyond our control. Sometimes evil gains the upper hand, for a moment, for a day, for a season. And yet, an injustice done to us, no matter how heinous, does not excuse an even greater injustice done to another innocent person. Killing the child of rape is a gross injustice. It is barbaric. It is un-American.

"To what" is a good and important question, but "away from what we have now" to only those restrictions is a good step.

I grew up in the world before RvW made everything, anytime, for any reason legal everywhere in the US.

If Romney actually takes us back to that before RvW standard with those exceptions, then the feminists will vilify and hate him and the pro-life purists will vilify him and hate him, but I'll thank him for retaking the ground lost to RvW and for saving the lives of those who would be lost otherwise.

To me, that would not be the perfect thing, but it would be a good thing.

One could argue that the “innocent child” is an accessory after the fact to the crime.

That may well be the absolute worst thing I've ever seen posted on FR.

I stand in awe of the depths folks will plumb, all to support the pro-abort democrat socialist former governor of Massachusetts.

I wonder where the bottom is of this hole you all are digging for yourselves...

No, one could not argue that, you are not responsible for the crimes committed by your forbears.

That would be like being born into slavery, guilt is not passed down in the blood stream.

And Yes the Child is ALWAYS innocent. That is part of being a child.

You proved my point by ignoring it.

BY FORCING THE RAPE VICTIM TO HAVE THE RAPISTS BABY YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE HER SUFFER MORE, MUCH MORE. YOU ARE ALSO FORCING THE RAPISTS WILL ON THE VICTIM.

Address that.

I have nothing more to say to someone who can look at a little child and say that you would have been fine with murdering them.
