Monday is National Empty Chair Day (Woo-Hoo!)

What better way to commemorate the Labor Day holiday than to send a message to the AWOL campaign-in-chief — and support Clint Eastwood, to boot!

Twitchy has the story of the latest Eastwood-inspired social media phenomenon. First, #eastwooding.

Now: #EmptyChairDay.

Tomorrow, Monday, is the day.

Decorate yours any way you want it: Nobama stickers, Romney/Ryan yard signs, golf clubs, mom jeans, etc. Email/tweet us your best entries.

My decoration’s going to be “We own this country!” sign, in tribute to Eastwood’s best line from his speech.

Have fun! You know they’re going to call it racist, anyway.

I had legs from some old 3 piece yard sign frames, drilled holes in the bottom of the
old wooden chair legs and pounded them in. Makes it look like it's suspended in air eh?

Love it!

My rants:

Labor day is a day that celebrates and underscores communist infiltration of this country. I say we throw it back in the face of those apparatchiks like 0bama who value their elitist power and position while sticking it to those of us who work and employ others. The empty chair exemplifies the LACK of 0bama’s and the DNC’s work....or budget...or responsibility...or accountability. Labor Day is OURs, and so is the CHAIR. They have absented themselves and dishonor us as surely as has been Neil Armstrong.

“Labor day : History

“In 1882, Matthew Maguire, a machinist, first proposed the holiday while serving as secretary of the CLU (Central Labor Union) of New York. Others argue that it was first proposed by Peter J. McGuire of the American Federation of Labor in May 1882, after witnessing the annual labor festival held in Toronto, Canada.

Oregon was the first state to make it a holiday in 1887. By the time it became a federal holiday in 1894, thirty states officially celebrated Labor Day. Following the deaths of a number of workers at the hands of the U.S. military and U.S. Marshals during the Pullman Strike, President Grover Cleveland reconciled ...(with) leader of the labor movement. Fearing further conflict, the United States Congress unanimously voted to approve rush legislation that made Labor Day a national holiday; Cleveland signed it into law a mere six days after the end of the strike. The September date originally chosen by the CLU of New York and observed by many of the nation’s trade unions for the past several years was selected rather than the more widespread International Workers’ Day because Cleveland was concerned that observance of the latter would be associated with the nascent Communist, Syndicalist and Anarchist movements that, though distinct from one another, had rallied to commemorate the Haymarket Affair in International Workers’ Day.”

Source: Wikipedia

The lunacy of celebrating working by having a national “No one works Day” is matched only by the fact that on that day, many people do work. Now it appears that working people, business owners, employers and employees are reduced to being ‘workers’ by political speech that starts at the top of the political chain — unless they are ‘rich.’ And that’s rich, considering that those at the top of the political chain are THEMSELVES made rich on the backs of others.

Were I an anthropologist looking back at American civilization in the United States, I would concentrate on key dates that introduced culture changes. One of these has to be cultural acceptance of quashing success by the seizure of freedom.

This is what we face. Trickle up success and fair share points directly to someone parasitically draining the energy and freedom of someone else as the ill-gotten gains nurtured by an artificially inflated mentality that values social position or entitlement. And, if we think about it, trickle up comes from dirt level—which means that whatever existed before must be destroyed.

Not even the spring at Lourdes can make the miracle of eternal fairness or the eureka moment when someone understands liberty. To make business the enemy of freedom eradicates the Magna Carta and gives carte blanche to tyrants. Then, there would be no “No work day,” but there would be the fairly shared poverty of all for the benefit of a small minority of the few.

How extraordinary is it that the muscular economic achievement of the United States which permits a “Labor Day” celebration has spawned the opposite, parasitic narrative that eliminates the success and freedom to enrich ourselves through labor? Shall we abdicate our own chair-making as a democratic, ideological seppuku?

I want to see a cartoon of Obama looking out through the window of Air Force one at an empty chair tied to a stack of balloons at 30,000 feet and he is screaming for his fighter escort to shoot it down.
