Republicans Are Pouncing On A Startling Admission From The Governor Of Maryland

Maryland Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley said Sunday that Americans are not better off under President Obama than they were four years ago, a somewhat startling admission that Republicans and Mitt Romney immediately pounced on.

On CBS's "Face the Nation" Sunday morning, host Bob Schieffer asked O'Malley if he can "honestly say that people are better off today than they were four years ago."

"No," O'Malley said, "but that's not the question of this election."

"The question," he continued, "without a doubt, we are not as well off as we were before George Bush brought us the Bush job losses, the Bush recession, the Bush deficits, the series of desert wars, charged for the first time to credit cards, the national credit card..." "George Bush is not on the ballots," Schieffer quipped.

The first sentence was good enough for the Romney campaign. It's a somewhat baffling admission because the Obama campaign has explicitly avoided giving a "Yes" or "No" answer to the question during the campaign in hopes of avoiding a bad soundbite.

That was the case on both ABC's "This Week" and "Fox News Sunday," where advisers David Plouffe and David Axelrod both avoided a direct answer.

Michelle loves to lecture us on what a saintly paragon of virtue Barack is.

And although she doesn’t think much of our reasoning ability, she does believe that we are at least smart enough to see that she too is a saint and a paragon of virtue. And that we are also smart enough to notice that she is also just too darned modest and classy to actually say so.

But she does lead us to the well.

This in spite of the fact they are both law school graduates, a profession usually not so closely associated with altruism and thankless virtue - at least to the extent she claims.

My question is this:

If they are both such paragons of virtue and terrific role models, why have they both been disbarred from legal practice?

That sounds like a racist question. Are you one of those birthers? (my Chris Matthews imitation.)

‘We can’t do it without Barrack. He will do it for us because he loves us. We are all in this together, Barrack won’t leave any of us behind. He must have 4 more years in charge so he can finish fixing the country moving forward and saving us....he is our only hope.”

Sounds like a quick cure for constipation.

I am really sick and tired of the Democrats blaming everything from Hoof and Mouth Disease to Solar Sun Spots on The Bush Administration. All we need do is just look at the amount of money spent under Obama and under President. Bust. It is time for the Democrats to “ Man Up” and admit their policies have not worked./ As Clint says it is time to let them go.
