There's the problem in Washington. The teachers unions are like rabid dogs when it comes to protecting the rights of non performance, their benefits and THEIR POLITICAL POWER.
HI Baynative——how can we introduce and embed the term “pro-choice” into this particular election issue? Because it really is about choice.
We should all say that we are all pro-choice when it comes to education.

We just moved to WA last year, and the teacher’s unions have WAY too much power here. If they don’t get what they want, they just go on strike. Even though striking is illegal. But there are zero consequences for striking, so judges let them get away with it. It’s insane!
To fight the unions, all you need to do is play a clip of that poor boy being bullied in commercials across the state and simply state, "this teacher couldn't be fired because of the teacher's union. If you or I had bullied this kid, not only would we have been fired, we would also be thrown in jail."

—Sounds right. My liberal city has the same modus operandi. If they don’t get what they want, they go on strike. Then like clockwork, they blame the govt etc. Well, you know how these corrupt clowns in the unions operate..

It is only a matter of time before most of America’s teachers are replaced by flawlessly produced videos and speech interactive, artificially intelligent computers.
The work of 3.7 million public sector union members will be performed by a few hundred brilliant teachers and Silicon Valley.

In Whatcom county, a guy who used to be the head of the local teachers’ union is an active member of the party and teaches Agenda 21 issues, but also supports the unions in all things, including the coal terminal.
The wife of our state Senator is also a member of the teachers’ union and he, Doug Erickson, made a statement on the radio that he supported the SEIU contracts and the WEA health insurance for the teachers, our Republican State Congressman is a member of the Firefighters union. Heck, we have a PCO whose father in law founded SSA and is a member of the ILWU and another who is a member of the RR union.

In CA, all of the textbooks have to be state approved and every single one of them supports Agenda 21 and global warming. I wind up teaching logic and critical thinking and junk science v. real science. We're not supposed to veer from the curriculum at all.
My daughter graduated from Capistrano Valley high school in 1990. When she took algebra in 8th grade, 40% was a passing grade. When I asked the teacher how she could consider that the kids had mastered the subject with a 40% and move on to the next lesson, she said that all the bright students take algebra in 8th grade and that she had to stick to the curriculum and could not take the time to go back over anything.
So, I tried to help my daughter at home, but the text books did not contain any examples, just practice pages. I assume that the lack of examples was purposeful, so that kids with interested parents would not have an advantage over those who did not. It was quite common for parents to hire an algebra tutor to teach their kids outside of school because they didn’t learn anything in school. Of course all the tests were multiple choice scantron tests, anyway.
I went out and bought another algebra curriculum so that I could teach her at home. It was really tough because my daughter was an elite athlete who missed a lot of school for competition outside the country.
When I was in college we got our first televised lectures. There was a cartoon in our campus newspaper of a classroom with the TV on giving a lecture and every desk was empty except for battery operated tape recorders. Humorous, but ironic prophecy...
