I won’t ask how you stumbled into the “Gay Star” web site...

This ordinance would be unlikely to survive a serious 1st amendment challenge.

an ordinance that prohibits 'any person or group of persons to loiter or congregate on Bourbon Street for the purpose of disseminating any social, political or religious message

So a bunch of half-naked queers bumping and grinding on a public street isn't, in and of itself, a social/political message???

Talk about "down the rabbit hole..."

I found myself in the unfortunate position of being in the French Quarter one year when Southern Decadence was going on. Actually, I was trying to get through the Quarter and to the bus station, to get back to Little Rock for the weekend. It was weird, no women anywhere. I wrote this:

I’m the only girl in the Quarter tonight
That should be a delight
But something’s not right
Can’t get no attention from all these gents
On a weekend they call Southern Decadence.

Could never finish it, but it makes its point.

You might carry on by pointing out how things would differ on a lesbian night....

Makes the point quite well and poetically!

“America; we’ve lost our way....... “

That we have. Instead of freedom of speech and religion, we now have freedom from offensive speech. It’s just what the progressive legal scholars have been pushing. So many people see it as caring and compassionate, a few, like me, find that it is chilling to the bone.
