DNC: Dems engage tech, public to kick off 'most open and accessible convention in history'
The Republican ^

Organizers say the 2012 Democratic National Convention here will contrast the Republican convention in Tampa, Fla., a week ago by becoming the most open and inclusive political event in the history of the United States.

And despite a shortened schedule running Tuesday through Thursday, Southern hospitality kicked off the week with several parades and concerts on Monday as the one-time first day of the convention was blended with CarolinaFest.

Democratic National Convention CEO Steve Kerrigan said in a press conference on Monday that through public invitation and digital engagement, more average citizens will be a part of the action in Charlotte than ever before.

"We've worked to transform the convention into one that engages Americans and brings us all together," Kerrigan said. "The public is welcome to attend our many caucus meetings and the president will accept his nomination in front of tens of thousands of citizens on Thursday. This will be the most open and accessible convention in history."

...

That means as Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren and Senator John Kerry, D-Mass., take the stage throughout the week, fans and critics alike can easily tune in to watch the Bay Staters give a boost to President Barack Obama's campaign against former Republican Gov. Mitt Romney.

...

"We will show that we are the party of opportunity and openness. Here, you will see people from every walk of life. You have a (presidential) candidate who wants to build the economy from the middle out or a candidate who wants to build the economy from the top down," he (Villaraigosa) said, referring respectively to Obama and Romney.

I still wonder why so many Democrats have decided to skip this convention.

Even Nancy Pelosi told her Democrats in Congress that they should skip it, to instead campaign for re-election in their districts.

If Obama is so wonderful, so popular, so insightful, so brilliant, so (fill in the blank), why would so many Democrats be avoiding this convention????

Or to look at another way, if Obama and Democrats are so great, so right on the issues, wouldn’t Democrats benefit more from being at the convention rather than campaigning back home?????

They mean packed full of Rat totems... anyone who dares disagree with the party line in any fashion is denied at the gate, though.

translation

The left are trying to make it look like their messiah is poplar and they do this by gving tickets away and with the help of their media which is most of it in this country then they will say this is the biggest hype we have ever seen and it shows how obama is very popular around the country and people are engaged in this election.

They do this because there is massive fraud about to take place and they have to justify how much voting occured

yep how funny.

The party which tells us that it’s discriminatory and all that, to ask for voters to show ID, require ID to get into their most open accessible convention ever. Unbelieveable.

Hmmmmm ..?? Most open and accessible ..?????

Well .. I don’t think that’s a very good idea .. especially when you’re planning to have a “Muslim Prayer meeting” and NO TICKET or I.D. is required. Isn’t that a little like leaving the barn door open ..????

Open “borders”?

No request for ID or “papers” to enter the convention hall?

Or is this more “TRANSPARENCY” BS from the Obama administration?
