I smell $oro$...
I would not be surprised if the f**ker ends up moving out of the country.
I recall it as being during Christmas 1973. Lots of the small mom and pop stations which used to dot the countryside just went under — they would spray paint "no gas" on the pumps and just give it up.
True, there were not a lot of gas lines. You only saw those at stations that actually had gas. Tanker truck drivers would accumulate "parades" as people would follow them to the gas station where they were delivering.
Those were the days when we found out what a gas pump sounds like when it finally sucks air and quits. I had never heard or seen any such thing before.
We went to Maui this spring. It was nice. I don’t need to go there again.
I love Maui. So varied, from the more temperate agricultural highlands to the snorkeling to the wet jungles of Hana.
But from the middle of the country, it is a loooooong trip, which is discouraging even w/o their over-the-top progressiveness. It is cheaper and takes less time for us to travel to the Caribbean.
