I also wouldn’t put it past him to let hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees emigrate to America. To reside in swing states, of course.

O Boy!! extremism is exactly what the Syrian opposition espouses. The Syrian civil war sides are a classic example of the pot call the stove black.
My final offer is this: nothing.
Ask Putin and the Chinese. In the end they will own your country but for the immediate future they may pour money into the plan. Later you can move to France and live off your Swiss bank accounts.
