New experience for Obama: GOP attacks and mockery
Washington Examiner ^ | September 3, 2012 | Byron York

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Why did the Obama campaign fumble the "are Americans better off than four years ago" question?

Why has President Obama been unable to put the "you didn't build that" charge to rest?

And why has the campaign struggled to come up with a coherent response to the Republican convention? (Calling it a pack of lies doesn't count.)

It's hard to avoid the conclusion that, as Democrats begin their convention here in Charlotte, the Obama campaign is not hitting on all cylinders. The question is why a campaign that was so successful in 2008 is sputtering today.

Here's a theory: Barack Obama has never in his life run against a sharp, determined and aggressive Republican opponent. Facing Mitt Romney, who is all three, is a new experience for the president.

then McCain and his clowns told the RNC to knock it off because they want “to run a positive campaign”.

Just like idiot Rove is telling them now

I think Mitt will skewer him in the debates.

Thank you for reminding us all of that inconvenient truth. People also forget that the only time the McCain ticket actually led was in the brief few days after they rolled out Sarah Palin. Then they muzzled her for the same stupid excuse of wanting to run a positive campaign.

It is way past time to keep landing punches until "the One" has a meltdown and takes his media sycophants with him.

Libtards need to be returned to their bubble worlds of academia, media and entertainment. For these fantasy worlds are the only places where their cockamamie theories work.

I think Mitt will skewer him in the debates.

And the press will say Mitt was mean-spirited towards a sitting President.

You are probably right but the public will see that the Emperor has no clothes. I think Mitt will do what McCain did not and show Obama for what he is just a very mediocre person who if he was white would never have gotten elected in the first place.

McCain's challenge was so weak that today Obama sometimes waxes nostalgic for the good old days of perfunctory GOP opposition. "The last time we ran, we had a Republican candidate who -- I had some profound disagreements with him, but he acknowledged the need for immigration reform, and acknowledged the need for campaign finance reform, acknowledged the need for policies that would do something about climate change,"

Michael Steele was a joke. Reince Priebus is doing a much more effective job at the RNC.

They expected Michael Steele to be able to stand up to Obama without being called a racist. What they forgot is that black Republicans have black friends and relatives who they will irreversibly alienate if they attack "The One".

This was my main concern about a Herman Cain candidacy -- whether he and his family could survive the kind of vitriol that they would get from their non-Republican black friends and relatives.

GOP & RNC are finally waking up and smelling the coffee.

If you saw Carly Fiorna (R) on the weekend you saw how Newt had to beat her stupid DNC talking points into the ground. Instead of nailing the Rats on their extremist positions Newt had to totally counter her stupid comments about Akin and abortion.

The RNC needs to kick Karl Rove to the curb and get Newt and John Sununu onto every talk show between now and the election nailing Ubama to the wall! Those two men know how to counter and confront the propagandist media.

The RNC had better figure out a strategy to expose the media every time they enter the room to conduct an interview. Every one of the DNC talking points can be counter-punched!

For instance when Romney's tax records are brought up BY A MEDIA person and asked why is this still an issue... the response from an "R" team member should be: "the reason the tax records are still an issue is because instead of being a journalist you grabbed your DNC talking points off from the fax machine and you are discussing it. What's your next question Andrea?"

“The question is why a campaign that was so successful in 2008 is sputtering today.”

Here’s another theory: during his four years in office, Obama has now established a record of deliberate economic destruction so broad and so deep that the leftist media (i.e., the alphabet networks and the bird-cage-liner press) can no longer cover everything up for him, particularly since the leftist media itself is in its last dying throes since the big Internet meteorite slammed into Earth.

I don’t believe Rove or McCain are dumb or whatever. I think both are part of the One-worlder rule cabal. They are in on it. They’re on the take. They’ve either been bribed or blackmailed.

McCain’s campaign was the most lame in my lifetime. Worse than Dole’s by far.

“I think Mitt will skewer him in the debates.”

I don’t.

Newt would most definitely have “skewered him”. But not Mitt — he’s too much “the gentleman” for that.

He will attack, and perhaps attack “on good principle”, but I don’t think Mitt is capable of delivering “the killer lines” that Newt might have thrown at The One.

And remember that the moderators — who all hail from the left — will do everything within their power to make the debates easier for Obama and make them harder for Romney. There is only so much they can do, but they WILL use whatever powers they can muster to tilt the playing field.

Nevertheless, I expect that Mitt will come out of the debates the better, and Obama the lesser.

BTW, I probably won’t be watching. My decision was made on election day, 2008... (actually, it was made before that — I do not vote for democrats, ever).

“I don’t know why the RNC can’t find a true conservative motivational leader.”

The RNC doesn’t WANT a true conservative leader. When all’s said and done, the RINO and GOPe contingents are still running the show.

I only remember Sarah’s acceptance speech (with good use of ridicule) putting zero off his game. Then they shut Sarah down. She could have destroyed zero. She still can.
