DEMOCRATIC PLATFORM SEEKS TO RID U.S. OF OIL
Human Events ^ | 9/5/201 | Audrey Hudson

Ridding the U.S. of oil-based energy and avoiding the catastrophic consequences of climate change are the primary goals of the Democratic Party platform released this week that labeled the planet’s temperature variations as a national security crisis.

“We must end the tyranny of oil in our time,” the platform said. “This immediate danger is eclipsed only by the longer-term threat from climate change, which will lead to devastating weather patterns, terrible storms, drought, conflict, and famine. That means people competing for food and water in the next fifty years in the very places that have known horrific violence in the last fifty: Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. That could also mean destructive storms on our shores, and the disappearance of our coastline,” the platform said.

The U.S. is no longer public enemy number one when it comes to greenhouse gas emissions — that distinction now goes to China. Other offending countries include the U.S., India, Russia and the European Union, the platform said.

Democrats want to conquer climate change through the creation of a “global energy forum,” which they would reach out to the offending nations to join in order to establish new climate protocols. “We need a global response to climate change that includes binding and enforceable commitments to reducing emissions, especially for those that pollute the most.”

“Without dramatic changes, rising sea levels will flood coastal regions around the world. Warmer temperatures and declining rainfall will reduce crop yields, increasing conflict, famine, disease, and poverty. By 2050, famine could displace more than 250 million people worldwide. That means increased instability in some of the most volatile parts of the world,” the platform said.

“Never again will we sit on the sidelines, or stand in the way of collective action to tackle this global challenge,” the platform said.

Breaking the country’s “addiction to foreign oil” calls for a “Manhattan or Apollo Project-level” commitment.

“We hear that call and we Democrats commit to fast-track investment of billions of dollars over the next ten years to establish a green energy sector that will create up to five million jobs,” the platform said.

“It will not be easy, but neither was getting to the moon,” the platform said.

TX, LA, and OK should help the Democrats reach their goal by shutting off all gas and oil pipelines to the north and east. Their hot air should be able to keep them warm this winter

Don’t fall for their “alternative” or “clean” energy diversion.

They don’t want you to use ANY energy. They want you shivering in the dark and under their complete control.

If you bought it,a truck brought it. I know truckers don’t peddle those big rigs to the stores. Pure madness.

I think we’re going to need to keep a running tally of the things eliminated from or by the Dem party platform. So far:

1. God
2. Israel
3. Oil

We could probably add: Babies, Biblical marriage, common sense.

Don’t fall for their “alternative” or “clean” energy diversion.

Who said I did? Nuclear and hydro are proven to be effective and cheap energy sources. We'd be fools not selling oil and setting prices.

Looks like I need some land to start breeding mules and horses.

That is where we will be heading.

Apparently the 300% inflation in energy costs they engineered in the last 4 years is not enough. They are shooting for a 3000% increase in the next 4 years.
