The economy that President Barack Obama inherited from Republicans was “a total mess” and he needs another four years in the White House to finishing fixing it, former President Bill Clinton argued Wednesday in his prime time speech at the Democratic National Convention.
The 42nd president of the United States commanded the DNC crowd, framing the upcoming November election as a clear choice between Obama, who he argued would bring “shared prosperity,” and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
“My fellow Americans, you have to decide what kind of country you want to live in,” Clinton explained. “If you want a you’re-on-your-own, winner-take-all society, you should support the Republican ticket. If you want a country of shared prosperity and shared responsibility — a we’re-all-in-this-together society — you should vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden.”
Clinton said the GOP’s campaign argument is “pretty simple: ‘We left him a total mess, he hasn’t cleaned it up yet, so fire him and put us back in.’“ He also said Republicans live in an ”alternate universe.”
“I like the argument for President Barack Obama’s re-election a lot better,” Clinton said.
“Here it is: He inherited a deeply damaged economy, put a floor under the crash, he began a long hard road to recovery and laid the foundation for a modern, more well-balanced economy that will produce millions of good new jobs, vibrant new businesses and lots of new wealth for innovators.”

Clinton showed he thinks as little of Obama as any of us do.
And he did it in front of the DNC LOL!
Everyone is missing the point. Clinton was GOOD, in the eyes of the RATS, he was GREAT, in fact they think he is the GREATEST. Now, where does that leave Obama? Second-best...what they will go away really wanting is for Bill Clinton to step in and take over, which ain’t gonna happen.
Romney or Ryan should now remind folks that “Barack Obama is no Bill Clinton”...
Tonight was Clintons catch-up SOTU and his one shot at campaigning for President in 2012, and he indulged himself to the max.
People still believe in Billy Jeff after all these years; they think he had a “good economy” and would bring him back if it weren’t for that pesky 22nd Amendment.

Bill Clinton has long be identified with the Third Way -- and I might add, the 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus radicals (psycho spoiled brats) that took over the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party in the 1970s. Obama is of course an ideological issue of 1960s Marxist-Alinsky radicals.

Third Way means that ultra liberals finally! realize that communism cannot build wealth and thus cannot not work until there is wealth to snatch; and despite the BBC, Third Way does not totally reject neo liberalism; Third Way supports free trade and the market economy -- at least until those mechanisms have created the worldwide wealth that the Third Way ideologues wish to rule.
I have described Third Way (and now includes Obama) as a Marxist revolution from the top down combined with Lenin's New Economic Policy (NEP) where the capitalists (useful idiots) are used to build wealth worldwide and then are discarded by the ideologues.

I find it curious that neither the Clintons nor the Obamas have gone about the process of sharing THEIR personal/family prosperity.
