Tonight, the Democratic National Committee suspended the rules of the convention and inserted language regarding God and the State of Israel back to its platform. They had to vote three times to do it – and they had to lie to deem it passed, even though it was clear that the measure did not pass a voice vote in the chamber. The original 2012 Democratic Party platform had excised all mention of God and Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel.

I love this. After embarrassing questions from some media outlets (like Fox News - see Dick Durbin’s bizarre reaction to Brett Baier’s interview), the Dems tried to quietly slip the God and Jerusalem refererences back into the platform, lest they alienate both the Jewish and Evangelical vote, and hoped that would be the end of it. But, the braying mass of radical liberals they brought to the convention nearly shouted down Villaraigosa as he tried to get the two thirds majority assent (by voice vote- so democratic). So now the story is how the Dems are split over these issues. And on the eve of Zero’s big speech! Love it!
I cannot believe the rats imploded this badly, this ignominiously.
That’s possible, but I honestly think it was the wing-nut delegates that rammed this through. I think their platform committee went rogue.
Look, I don’t think the DNC gives one hoot about God, Israel, or Jerusalem. That still doesn’t mean they don’t want to hoodwink the populace into thinking they do.
Die-hard Lefties see no need for pretense, so they cut the language. The leaders do, and having been called on it, they forced the language back in.
That’s my take on it.
Funniest part of the whole thing was just before the multiple votes to drill more holes in the bottom of the sinking ship, I couldn’t figure out whether I wanted the vote to succeed or fail.
Don't forget. Dec. 21, 2012 is coming, and Valerie Jarrett will be declaring herself PREMIER of the NEW ISLAMIC SOCIALIST REPUBLIC of the WESTERN HEMISPHERE.
Imagine how Mayor ViagraLaRaza felt while reading that on the teleprompter and confronted with the evidence from his OWN EARS that proved the opposite.
I guess it doesn’t matter. He finally caved and ate the bullet.

I'll admit I do not know the whole convention structure in regards to what constitutes a quorum in this situation. Apparently a voice vote will do. But what I haven't seen mentioned is the fact that the hall was at the most filled to a third of it's capacity. That is this move to reinstall the 2008 language was purposely introduced at a time when the lowest delegate count is in their seats.
So in the hall were more of the "regular" Joe and Jane schmos that have limited power and so the powers that be calculated that they, as the good lower-rung sheep that they are, would be easier to persuade by the "aura" of it all. In fact, these folks are the true believers that don't see all the behind-the-scenes BS that reveals the true hypocritical, power-driven elite that purposely continue policies that will never achieve their intended goals but in fact guarantee an expansion of the very problem while adding a few more. These rank-and-file folks responded honestly not only to the sheer blatant manipulation of the voice votes but the actual issues of God and Israel. They only responded as they had been taught.
PS: Thanks C-Span for adding to the clips potency by showing that angry couple sporting the "Arab American Democrat" sign and their visceral anger when they realized it was a done deal. It once again proved that Democrats can never be honest peace brokers between Israel and the PA.
PSS: I noticed the liberal MSM tried to argue that there was minimal booing. I then watched the full clip and as the proposal was first made there were a couple low boos but nothing like the headlines I had just seen. But OH! when the deal was finalized that reaction was devastating and clear made the headlines clearly spot-on.

I didn’t hear any 2/3rds voice vote, it sounded much closer to even. Which is disgusting, but not totally surprising.
They should’ve taken a state-by-state vote but deliberately avoided that. The person stuck with that job was decidedly flustered.
Who made the uproar that forced the ham-fisted reversal?
Thanks for putting that up. I had seen it at another location and was hoping that someone would. Proof that the outcome was pretty much preordained.
