Bill Clinton was off his game tonight

Because deep down he does not want Obama to be reelected. I firmly believe he hates Obama, but felt he needed to do this for political purposes for his wife in 2016 when she runs and people won’t blame the Clinton’s for the Obama loss.

Agree.

If you read carefully what he said about 0bama, he damns him with faint praise. There is no enthusiasm, no ringing endorsement. It all sounds very “lawyerly” to me.

Exactly. Clinton recent remarked something to the effect that his window of opportunity to regain power using Hillary as a proxy was closing (weakening health). He knows that his only hope of being reinstalled in the White House is if Obama wins, followed by Hillary as the heir apparent. If Romney wins that would likely mean 8 years of a GOP presidency.

Viewed in this light, Clinton's speech last night was that of a rank opportunist so hungry to be back in the seat of power that he would heap praise upon his political enemy.
