BRITAIN'S Ministry of Defence says Prince Harry has returned to Afghanistan to fly Apache attack helicopters during a four-month tour of combat duty.

The 27-year-old who is third in line to the British throne looked relaxed, if slightly tired on Friday, and gave a thumbs-up after a long journey on a standard troop flight from England.

Capt Harry Wales, as he is known, wore his combat uniform upon arrival and joined his 100-strong unit - the 662 Squadron, 3 Regiment Army Air Corps.

“What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” Unless you’re a prince then what happens in Vegas gets you sent to Afghanistan.

Reporters do what reporters do. And as it’s a reporter, anything less than No. l Dress with sword, is probably seen as combat uniform.

After his tour of duty in Vegas, this reminds me of the line from Man Who Would Be King:

"'Let's go seek safety in battle."

He’s a fine young man - if not always as wise as he could be.

That kinda goes along with being a young man - says the guy with brothers and sons. Young men tend to do, well, stupid ... "stuff". How does that old saying go: good decisions come from experience, experience comes from bad decisions...

The press is making way too much of this. He’s a young man in his 20s. He went ot Vegas. He had some fun with a girl. Now he’s back to work defending his country and the West. We don’t need a million stories about it or how mad his family is. Screw them. While I think the whole “royal family” should not be on the public teet, if the UK is going to have them, I like this guy better than the others.

Me too. And look what the kid had to grow up with. His parents’ indiscretions all over the press and his mother dead in a car accident, also all over the press.

I’d excuse a lot. He’s goodhearted and brave.

The deployment on Friday follows an embarrassing incident ...

No indication whether this deployment was scheduled before the "embarrassing incident".

And he does seem like the best of the younger royals and a good percentage of young guys have had similar "experiences". And it's not just the famous who now run the risk of being videoed in some wilder moment. It's just a matter of how far and wide the videos might be distributed. But anyone can end up somewhere online, as has been proven often.

It was scheduled before, and the 'embarrassing incident' might well have partly occurred because of it. He was on his final leave before returning to a combat situation - he wanted to have some fun and felt he was entitled to it. He trusted the wrong people.

I am somewhat concerned for Harry’s well being, because it has become blindingly obvious that Prince Charles is not his father, who is instead a former Captain in the British Household Cavalry named James Hewitt, who had an admitted and proven five year affair with Princess Diana.

Prince Harry looks just like him.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Hewitt

The trouble is, that after Prince Charles and Prince William, Prince Harry is currently third in line for the throne.

So there is at least some possibility that the Queen will arrange for Harry to meet a “heroic end” in combat. At least as the official story.

In truth, some scoundrel will just sabotage his helicopter.

Not this nonsense again. I know Harry. I know the Prince of Wales. There is absolutely no doubt that the Prince of Wales is Harry's father. There is also, ample proof of that in the form of genetic testing - all members of the Royal Family have been genetically fingerprinted for a number of different reasons - from security (the necessity to be able to identify them in certain dire circumstances) through to genealogical and genetic research (the nature of their highly recorded family histories over generations make them extremely useful in medical research). Harry is the son of the Prince of Wales - if he wasn't, the 'proof' would have leaked ages ago.

Harry doesn't look all that much like Hewitt except that they have roughly the same colour hair. But that also happens to be the hair colour of his Uncle, Earl Spencer (Diana, Princess of Wales' brother) - it runs in his maternal line. Harry, however, does have a fairly strong resemblance to his paternal Grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh - father of the Prince of Wales. If you really put stock in what people look like as an indication of how they are related, there's ample evidence of the relationship there.

The Princess of Wales affair with James Hewitt, came after Harry was born as well, so unless some sort of time travel is involved, it becomes difficult to see how it supposedly happened.

As for the suggestion that Harry would be killed in some sort of accident, or combat, in order to cover things up, if there was some grand conspiracy that would be an incredibly stupid thing to do - because all British servicemen have their DNA sequence recorded as a way of allowing for the identification of their bodies if necessary, and such tests are carried out to confirm death and identification if such an eventuality arises. And, of course, that's yet another example of how ridiculous this claim is - the MoD has both Harry and William's DNA signature on file - if they didn't show a fraternal relationship between them, that would have leaked as well. In actual fact, the Palace would have never let both of them join the military if there was any sort of cover up.

Besides all of this, legally and constitutionally, it'd be utterly irrelevant if Harry was Hewitt's son (except for the fact that Hewitt would be legally guilty of High Treason and face life in prison - and only a few years ago would have faced execution) - as a matter of both civil law, and the laws of the Church of England, and these are the laws that govern the line of succession, Harry is legally the son of the Prince and Princess of Wales, and therefore correctly in the line of succession - British law has long been designed to deal with the possibility that there might be questions about the parentage of somebody in the line of succession and the laws to deal with that, predate the existence of tests that could prove it one way or another - so if the child is born in clearly legal wedlock, that's what legally matters. It might cause some embarrassment - but nothing like the embarrassment, a massive cover up and conspiracy would risk.
