Time to create some more BS government agencies. Perhaps the Department of Treason? Department of Lesbian Puppetry? There are plenty of 99%ers with a degree in that.

Wait till they figure out how to export them. Maybe India could expand their call desk to answer income tax questions.

Hmmm... since every policy of 0bama’s has been a defacto reparations program, or paying off his cronies and supporters,

I wonder what demographic group is overrepresented amongst gov’t workers... hmmmm...

Really no need for half of them. The idea that teachers need helpers is ridiculous.

How is that calculated? I have worked in industry, government and public accounting. I am now unemployed. How am I classified?

Masybe we could get them to make doilies or something in their spare time. This way they will at least be making a product that could be sold. Pushing paper from one desk to another is not productive.

Wait one minute, how in the heck is a government an industry? There should always be 0% unemployment in government.

If you do not have a slot in a government role, that person is gone/fired/layed off. They do not go into a bucket of “unemplyed government worker”. They are “person without job”, period. What bull scat.

Maybe I am missing something here or maybe I am just too country to go along with just how screwed up our Feral Government really is.

I don’t really understand the concept of “public employee unemployment”.

I mean, I know we can track how many public employees were laid off. And I guess, if you kept track of them individually, you could tell me how many people who had been laid off from a public job were still unemployed.

But I think what this means is how many people are trying to GET a public job, and not getting it. And that doesn’t make sense — if I’m unemployed, I am not employed by either the public sector or private sector. How can you distinguish between the two? Or is it just that nobody wants to work in the public sector, so fewer people are trying?

I’m confused. How do we calculate the employment rate per sector like this? What is the denominator?

Government workers are 37% less likely to be unemployed.

(8.1% - 5.1%) / 8.1% = 37%

Nice!

“government worker”

an oxymoron, for the most part...

How do they measure unemployment among government workers? What self-respecting unemployed person would admit to being a government worker?

That will change at the end of the default process. Government will close briefly then open much smaller.

I have a whole new view of government workers and it starts with the image of the Libyan revolution and government workers, mercenary secret service palace guards and Kaddhafi generals hanging from lampposts.
