Chill Pill: Jennifer Granholm Has a Howard Dean Moment at DNC
Townhall.com ^ | September 7, 2012 | Kate Hicks

Posted on 09/07/2012 7:08:28 PM PDT by Kaslin

Jennifer Granholm was Michigan governor from 2003-2011. During that time, the state experienced major economic decline, an unemployment level higher than the national average, and population loss. She was replaced by Gov. Rick Snyder, a Republican elected in 2010. Michigan has since begun to see its greatest level of economic development in a decade. No one misses her.

Of course, failed economic policies weren't any kind of dealbreaker for a speaking slot at the DNC; in fact, one might say they were a requirement. And all's the better that her delivery is in the style of Howard Dean. Yeaaaaah!

Jennifer Granholm DNC Speech Highlights: 'Rev Up Your Engines'

Maybe they should have considered choosing someone else to speak favorably about the bailout -- you know, maybe someone who didn't preside over the state during the auto industry's major decline. But hey, her unbridled enthusiasm for the president can't be beat, and that's getting tougher to find these days. Forward!

Update: Completely neglected to point out one of the best parts of this entire video: the woman in the crowd, cheering on Granholm's pro-bailout freak-out, who's holding...a Ford sign. Does it get more ironic?

Watch the video with the audio off - it’s even more hilarious watching her go thru all those theatrics without hearing what she is saying.

And I wouldn’t touch her with a 10” pole.

As someone pointed out at FR, the modern Democrat party is post-modern. Neither internal consistency nor real-world results matter. Only the narrative. ^this

Don't trust FOX for all your news, dear.

Jennifer Granholm is par in public stature with the former NC Governor...I forget the B$%C& ‘s name.(not really, I just refuse to print it)

I will say that female former and current Republican Governors seem to command much more retrospective respect than their putative Democrat equals.
Mary from Louisianna comes to mind.
But even Mary Landrieu can pretend to still sleep well at night, blaming all her leadership failures on “an act from God”,(Katrina) while paying big bucks to wikipedia posters.
Poor Jennifer Granholm and Beverly Perdue can only blame themselves, if they were honest women. Since it is patently apparent nobody belives that they were victims of a natural disaster ...

Not only did she have a mole removed she also had
Juviderm or Restalyn injections and a Vi-Peel for lost volume in her face and skin resurfacing. When I saw her last night knew she had done something and looking at the picture that someone posted in this site I am right. It is not a face lift but you can get some really good results from it.

Granholm was proving her loyalty to Obama. That was the theme of the nifht. Cory Booker went there, too. They don’t seem to know the long knives are already out after Eastwood mocked the “hoax”. Reminder: Clint should get extra security.

Oh for goodness sakes!//sarcasm/

Why remind people in the USA that it might be a really BAD idea to elect people to positions of power in government who have demonstrated a decided lack of loyalty / appreciation for our governmental system?

I don’t blame Canada for Granholm.
I blame the idiots in Michigan for electing Granholm.

Re: “Maybe they should have considered choosing someone else to speak favorably about the bailout...”

CNBC didn't get the memo, either.

For about three years beginning in 2007, Squawk Box featured Granholm as a business expert about once a month.

No one EVER asked her about the economic travesty she created in Michigan.

I figured it had to be a political pay off to the Dems when even reliable Conservative Joe Kernan kept his mouth shut.

I hear ya. There’s a sort of famous song form the South Park movie called Blame Canada. It’s very funny IMO. I was referencing that - should have quoted it.

Clint should get extra security.

Yeah .... on another thread we were talking about the drop-dead heart attacks some people seem to have had (Breitbart, e.g., and the comedian who got together an Obama act based on Rich Little's sendup of former Pres. Bush), starting with Kam Kamata.

Kamata was a DiFi staffer and Dem operative who talked out of school about what he saw at the Denver Dem convention in 2008 -- of Michelle and some other inside-insiders (presumably including Valerie Jarret) taking a wrecked-looking Obama back for some sort of reparative therapy after he got wasted from fatigue and, Kamata thought, some sort of drugs (blow, dexies, who knows). Someone was playing recorded chants back in there, and someone who interpreted what Kamata thought he'd heard thought it was hypnotic or relaxation-type chanting, for recentering and reconstituting a frazzled individual. Then Obama went out and gave his famous acceptance speech.

Kamata gave a lot of details about how Obama looked and sounded that evening, inviting conjecture from knowledgable people. Kamata was found a year or so later lying on his kitchen floor, where he'd fallen and died, all by himself, undiscovered for several days, and possibly weeks (he lived alone, nobody to miss him).

Sen. DiFi looked into his death but the medical authorities ruled natural causes, so that was pretty much that.

That's the short version.
