WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama, picking up support following the Democratic National Convention, widened his narrow lead over Republican U.S. presidential challenger Mitt Romney in a new Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Saturday.

The latest daily tracking poll showed Obama, a Democrat, with a lead of 4 percentage points over Romney. Forty-seven percent of 1,457 likely voters surveyed online over the previous four days said they would vote for Obama if the November 6 elections were held today, compared with 43 percent for Romney.

"The bump is actually happening. I know there was some debate whether it would happen... but it's here," said Ipsos pollster Julia Clark, referring to the "bounce" in support that many presidential candidates enjoy after nominating conventions.

Obama had leapfrogged Romney in the daily tracking poll on Friday with a lead of 46 percent to 44 percent.

I hope the Oh...bah...mah...zombies and cultists believe this. Many will think that it won’t be no big deal if they skip filling out a bunch of ballots this time.

Mind you, the quoted poll is of “registered voters”, which is pretty much worthless.

The only polls worth looking at are LIKELY Voters, and then you still need to look at the internals, to see if one party or the other is plussed-up more than reality. Most of the Obama-on-top polls are +8 weighted towards Democrats. . .

From what I see on FB and comments on other stories online, I don’t see Obama winning. A lot of people really hate him and a lot who voted for him in 2008 are not voting for him this time. Also, I believe a lot of blacks will just stay home this November.

Higher unemployment may actually benefit Obama, they think Obama will do better at keeping unemployment benefits than Romney.

Romney needs to have a three point lead simply to overcome the fraud. Money spent on ballot security in swing state urban districts will be well spent.

The bump is actually happening.

Yeah, the pollster's own, gratuitous words--the pollster's bump. It would seem they doth protest too much!

Ehhhhhhh!   BUSTED!

the second line of the second paragraph claims this is likely voters...that said there’s no link in the story to the polling data...

It’s too early still for Romney to go negative.

Besides he’s got representatives.

Let them go negative. Keep Romney on the up-and-up. :)

“The precision of the Reuters/Ipsos online polls is measured using a credibility interval. In this case, the poll has a credibility interval of plus or minus 2.7 percentage points.”

What the hell is a “credibility interval”?

Ever since the Ulsterman posting on how bad 0bama’s internals are, we have seen nothing but positive stories about how well 0bama’s poll numbers are now, etc.

We are being dazzled with bullchit.
