State of the race: Advantage, Obama (Politico propaganda piece)
politico ^

President Barack Obama heads out of the national political conventions with a much clearer path to winning, top advisers to Mitt Romney privately concede.

The Romney campaign, while pleasantly surprised by Obama’s lackluster prime-time performance, said the post-convention bounce they hoped for fell well short of expectations and privately lament that state-by-state polling numbers — most glaringly in Ohio — are working in the president’s favor.

All it takes to claim the Romney insiders “concede” something is as follows. Liberal punk reporter blabs on to them with a long list of “isn’t it true... “? To which the Romney guy responds “yeah, but” or “ok, but” or “maybe but”.

And voila! Politico can start their article with Romney insiders “conceding” something.

Also I got the feeling some of the article came from a worrier not running the campaign, because then they referred to the campaign’s response to those worries.

Or else I’m wrong and the Romney campaign decided to quit 2 days after the DNC convention. Highly unlikely.

Also unlikely that the Romney campaign would speak so negatively about the fact Obama must defend some states he thought were safe.

There is a first time for everything. The point is that it's doable without Ohio and Pennsylvania, and the keys are Wisconsin and Virginia. And I like Romney's chances in both.

Obama will lose every state he currently polls under 50% in, including Ohio. His maximum vote is 47%.

All true but most people don’t know about the DNC shouting down God. Most people and especially squishy undecideds spend very little time on this stuff. And btw a lot of conservatives don’t know stuff because they refused to watch news during the DNC.

Clinton, billy boy is going to be in FL for obambi. Can tell you that this will not do well for obambi. The state is reeling from Charlie Cristitis, and his unbelievable BS. Jeb Bush has much influence there, well liked and is stumping there. Then to have bill clinton come in... well he is going to do things to help hillary’s try, and that means little bombs on obama and his biiiiig mouth will out this.

FL: NASA sold out and pissed at obama- lot of engineers serving icecream, Senator Bill Nelson getting his butt kicked by Connie Mack IV, Charlie Crist...say no more (his pic is on ambulance chaser trial lawyer/drunk slob John Morgan—and it is everywhere and people hate Crist, Morgan of course hosted NBA Orlando Magic players for obambi— one more “connection” mobbed up). The bellwether is the I-4 corridor— they go for Romney it’s done. Panhandle same way, and Jacksonville/Tampa. Miami, S of West Palm— well the Jewish vote is important and the Cuban-Americans run a lot of things there. And this non recognition of Jerusalem— not going over well at all. The Catholic vote of true devout Catholics is NOT going to obama.

Just my read, and a ramble based on fair amount of time there.

LOL! Yeah. I'm a troll... who will crawl over broken glass to vote out Obama.

What I am is very concerned that Romney is running a McCain 2.0 campaign. I am sick to my stomach to see Obama leading this close to the election with his disastrous record. I'm stunned.

Agreed. In general they should not be resting on their laurels. This should be a lambasting, full out, organized and directed. Respectful of the voters (factual about obama, and include Clint Eastwood’s empty chair) but directed and persistent.

Drudge may be about that. He’s in FL btw and there are a lot of MA retirees there who, except for the dem slugs, liked Romney in MA.

I didn’t follow either convention closely. But I did hear the booing live while I was driving and listening to Hugh Hewitt. I don’t think people are unaware how leftist the DNC was. Voters certainly knew how leftist it was in 1972. If the majority of voters are unaware of what was happening at the DNC there is no real hope we can reach them.

Politico is a progressive hack outfit. Definitely a MSM spin site. BS polls, don’t fall for their tactics.

Exactly!

Most noteworthy in your #8 is the Wisconsin Recall. Our win here was huge for many reasons.

First, the Dems and Unions were working overtime dumping huge stashes of cash and ads to beat Walker. Oh yes, and lets not forget, they were more than likely registering dead folks and felons.

Secondly, the Republican base was energized to combat this bogus recall. I still think the Dems and Unions are in complete and utter shock by this defeat of the Recall.

I believe Wisconsin is a microcosm of this next presidential election.

FUBO!

Driving back where I am tonight, caught a Phila radio station with report on voter ID in PA and how one city councilman a uh, “Kenyatta Johnson” was pumped up from being at the DNC and a voice quote from him about “we got’s to be organized in the trenches and make sure people vote”....

So it is good to fight them. A campaign is like a battle-planning is find and dandy— it takes execution to succeed and mobility and rapid response.

Exactly... They are running their big buy in the swing states and the ads are really vanilla.

I think it’s risky not to be more ideological. This country is center-right, and Obama is a hard leftist. Attacking is policies which is pure far left liberalism is not personally attacking Obama himself (if that’s what they are scared of). That’s how the Tea Party won in 2010. They framed Obama for what he is - a radical leftist.
