Rasmussen Daily Swing State Tracking Poll Swing State Daily Tracking: Romney 46% Obama 45%
Rasmussen Reports ^

Friday, September 07, 2012

This article offers a combined view of the results from 11 key states won by President Obama in 2008 and thought to be competitive in 2012. The states collectively hold 146 Electoral College votes and include Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

In the 11 swing states, Mitt Romney now attracts 46% of the vote, while President Obama earns 45%. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.

In 2008, Obama won these states by a combined margin of 53% to 46%, virtually identical to his national margin.

Due to the Democratic leanings of these states, a Romney lead in the 11 swing states would almost certainly result in victory for the GOP. However, Obama is likely to enjoy a bounce from his convention this week, and the results could shift significantly.

But Gallup had it the other way round. Geeze, can’t any group get it right? Oh, wait, the DOJ talked with Gallup.

Yeah. I think Rasmussen might want to expect a little visit from Axelrod and Barry’s DOJ.

Thanks for posting. Too many freaking out today about the Obama bounce. It is normal. This shows the more critical numbers. The states we have to win are still giving Romney an edge, despite the DNC. They show a small bounce so far. They still show Obama stuck in the mid 40s which is terrible for a incumbent.

The convention speech is something Obama is best known for. This is as good as it gets for him. He gets a week of unchallenged lies, an hour of national prime time tv, and an adoring media. He is still mired well below 50% in the states that count.

I still think Romney’s campaign needs to start taking the gloves off and start tying obamas record with the economic results. They keep pointing out the economy sucks, but not telling us why. There is a direct causual relationship with big government policies, but the voters need to be told. The other side is saying, we made progress and need more time. this is a lie, we are going the wrong direction, and it is directly due to awful policy on spending, tax increases, and government command and control. ,

I am not saying Romney is going to win Connecticut for one second! But here is some worthy info from Rasmussen:

In 2008 Obama won CT by 22.4 points

Popular vote 997,772 629,428
Percentage 60.6% 38.2%

Rasmussen currently shows Obama leading in CT by 8 points.

Connecticut: Obama 51%, Romney 43%

the disappointing thing with this chart is its probably the first one i’ve seen where Independents, listed as other, favor obama...then again the spread between the two candidates amongst women is significantly smaller than the criminal liberal media makes everyone believe- though it parallels recent stories/polls...

I can see a lot of them getting sued by Holder and his Black Pampers II.

Rasmussen better be careful, or He’ll get a threatening call from Axelgrease.

No poll is relevant immediately after the DNC. Most of the bounce for 0bama is because of Clinton. 0bama’s speech was much less than special, and Romney isn’t running against Clinton. Everyone needs to roll with the punches over the next few weeks and watch the polls after an equilibrium is reached and yesterday’s dismal jobs report is baked in. Talk to me on October 1 about polls. If Romney trails on that date then you can get out on the ledge.

ditto for New Jersey, which ayatollah obama won by 15 points in ‘08 and recent polls have him up by 7...

like everyone else my stomach turns when i see these national polls yet all the important polls (voter enthusiasm, expected GOP voters versus expected rats voters, groups where obama pulled in big numbers; Catholics, Jews, white males, independents) are trending away from obama...

this is Romney’s election to loose...crap- that turning feeling is returning to my stomach...

That's pretty scary what they did to Gallop. Makes one wonder what a second Obama term would be like. Whatever it's like I suspect a second will NOT be his last.
