This article offers a combined view of the results from 11 key states won by President Obama in 2008 and thought to be competitive in 2012. The states collectively hold 146 Electoral College votes and include Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
In the 11 swing states, Mitt Romney now attracts 46% of the vote, while President Obama earns 45%. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.
In 2008, Obama won these states by a combined margin of 53% to 46%, virtually identical to his national margin.
Due to the Democratic leanings of these states, a Romney lead in the 11 swing states would almost certainly result in victory for the GOP. However, Obama is likely to enjoy a bounce from his convention this week, and the results could shift significantly.

That’s a win for Romney. Undecideds break for the challenger. Thank the Lord for indecisiveness!
Padding out with extra Dems in densely blue states also helps get the Obama popular vote up, to avoid any (further) claims of illegitimacy if he were to win the electoral vote but lose the popular vote. Sort of like if Bush had run more ads in Texas to pad his popular vote turnout there, which would have made them able to portray Gore as trying to steal the election via the electoral college despite him losing the popular vote.
Good point. Obama won’t lose Cali, but I have a sneaking suspicion one of those “lean Obama” states will somehow surprise everyone by going red in November.

Isn’t that typical Obama? - Blow 50 dollars trying to make a 5
Here are some more figures to remember:

From Politico tonight....
The Romney campaign, while pleasantly surprised by Obamas lackluster prime-time performance, said the post-convention bounce they hoped for fell well short of expectations and privately lament that state-by-state polling numbers most glaringly in Ohio are working in the presidents favor.
Their map has many more routes to victory, said a top Republican official. Two officials intimately involved in the GOP campaign said Ohio leans clearly in Obamas favor now, with a high single-digit edge, based on their internal tracking numbers of conservative groups.

The Kenyan has lost support in every demographic. I wouldn’t think much of an article claiming unnamed sources. Think 2010 only bigger :)
Why not it’s not his money.
So now we know where Obama is going with his "transformational change".....North Korea....

Swedish Taxes on Ethiopian wages.
The complicit media and the moderators will make certain Obama has the questions to the debates in plenty of time for the teleprompter authors.
The “NOBODY WANTS TO VOTE FOR A LOSER” syndrome?
Thanks for posting this, I stayed off Drudge yesterday and watched college ball instead. That went a long way towards calming my sanity.
I’m in the Chicagoland suburbs. I haven’t seen a single Obama ad, fwiw I’ve only seen a handful of Obama stickers. ThoseCA ads could be very telling about that race.
On Harbor Blvd and Seaward and actually there are quite a few libs around here but this year they don’t seem so blatant about it.
No chance of winning California. Zero. We go through this every four years.
That is rather odd. Cable channels or local stations?
Not sure honestly, but some article on campaign cash.
Do you think this explains the lack of BO yard signs and bumper stickers?
