New Mexico Poll (045, R40, J7)
ABQ Journal ^

The presidential race in New Mexico may be more competitive than national pundits and polls have suggested.

According to a Journal Poll, President Barack Obama appears to have a small lead over Republican Mitt Romney in New Mexico, but Obama has not topped 50 percent, and 8 percent of voters were undecided in a close race with nine weeks remaining.

Obama drew support from 45 percent of the New Mexico voters surveyed between Sept. 3 and Sept. 6, while Romney stayed within striking distance at 40 percent.

Former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party candidate for president, who also will be on the Nov. 6 ballot, had 7 percent support. Johnson subtracted almost equal numbers of votes from Obama and Romney, according to the poll, meaning his third-party candidacy was not more damaging to one than the other.

I haven’t seen much enthusiasm for Obama like New Mexicans had last time around. In fact, I haven’t seen any. This race will go down in history as one where each side voted against the other side, not for their side.

For this cycle, to get rid of this marxist scum, Johnson can only help reinstall the traitor in our White House.

That happens, we can all put fubar after USA.

I don't like it either, but that's the reality of it . . the rest is, for this moment . . windmills.

In other words >  if you pit to change engines on the last lap of the race, I'll beat you every time, even if I have to push it across the line.

Great Statement!

I’m in Seattle of all places and I gotta tell you it’s tough to find a Obama 2012 bumper sticker. That for me is telling, also Obama is running ad’s here as well, which is strange.

Wow. MUCH closer than I thought. Bad news is how low Romney’s number is, but ZEro isn’t much better at a state he should own.

So beat it. Jeez. Some people really hate this country. FIND ANOTHER.

Gary Johnson is a boob whose only claim to fame is he's pro-drugs. Big deal. So's half of Hollywood.

Imagine my predicament. Anything I say will probably be misinterpreted once again. Nevermind.

Sorry. I just flew off the handle. Apologies. As a historian, though, I know from evidence how incredibly rapidly entire societies can turn. England went Victorian overnight. Germany went from a free republic to a totalitarian dictatorship in less than 15 years. "Always in motion is the future," says Yoda.

No matter what path we are on---good or bad---history tells us it seldom keeps going in the same direction for long.

We lost this war decades ago my FRiend. Our balloon payment is coming due and there’s not a chance in hell that we can lessen the effects no matter which of these two liberals is elected.

The Libertarian Party members are angling to be made trustees in Obama’s prison camps.

Yep.

The car is going over the cliff, no matter if Thelma is driving it at 100 mph, or Louise is driving it at 85.

LS you are supposedly a patriot and all, but you don't know the difference between being pro liberty and pro drugs? You just sound foolish with that statement, seriously.

You the well learned, need to take some more time and study this issue. The multi-billion dollar war on certain substances is an utter failure. You know that. There are other ways to deal with the issue which would much more effective, and still maintain law and order.

If there were a Gary Johnson on a ticket that had a reasonable chance of winning (against a Democrat OR Republican), I would vote for them.
