Romney Struggles to Gain Traction in Battlegrounds
Wall Street Journal ^ | Sept 9, 2012 | Sara Murray

With two months to Election Day, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney faces the disconcerting reality that he isn't winning most of the states he would need to beat President Barack Obama.

Mr. Obama is leading Mr. Romney by small margins in seven of the eight battleground states, all but North Carolina, according to averages of public polls compiled by RealClearPolitics. All are within the margins of error.

"Our problem in our country is not that we're not paying enough taxes," Mr. Romney said. "It's that we're spending too much money and the economy is not growing as it could and should."

"It's still a very difficult economic environment, and there's plenty of time for Romney to rally," said Mark McKinnon, a former political adviser to President George W. Bush. "Sixty days is like sixty years in political time."

I hope all the virulent Romney-haters are happy, stay home, vote third party, and let's move "Forward" to another founr years of Obama, after which there is nothing to worry about, because there isn't going to be anything left of the US as we know it.

So...a couple of flowery speeches, by Obama and Clinton, some tear—jerker lies about O “being by his dying mothers bed...lies about the “war on women”, from Sandra Fluke...and O is now winning??

If so...I guess this country deserves what it is about to get....

I just hope and PRAY I am not here to have to go through it all....

It's not a good paper. Its editorial staff may be right of centre but the reporters are journ0list.

Don’t believe MSM BS. There is a HUGE movement going on behind the scenes to dethrone The Self Annointed One. Anyone that doesn’t vote is casting a vote for Obama and the destruction of this country as you’ve known it. Please vote despite the MSM who lies to you on a daily basis so that you will lose hope and do exactly what they want you to do; not vote.

Struggling is an understatement. His own ppl today said he is behind in OH around 9 points.

Some of you need to wake up, acknowledge Romney is the worst disaster ever for the GOP and make sure this doesn’t happen again. And this is only going to get worse til election day.

I agree and they are going to do it. And the reason is we’ve been saddled with Romney. THAT is how bad Romney is.

With a compliant media, more and more people getting government handouts, and increasing numbers of illegals brought in as a voting block, it doesn’t surprise me at all. Obama is aloof, but Romney can’t seem to connect with enough voters to make a big difference. I hope the battleground polls are merely oversampling Dems.

Much will hinge on the debates. I’m not going to underestimate the stupidity of the voting public.

Even Reagan couldn’t win in these times. People don’t want work, they want food stamps and public housing. 0bama gives them what they want and therefore is overwhelmingly popular....Romney is toast

Folks, get used to stories like this. The MSM is doing this on purpose to demoralize the right. These stories will continue until election day. Don’t fall for it!! Note that these stories are emerging right after the DNC convention which even from objective sources, was a flop.

The government-run media will go out of their way to protect 0bama during these debates. They'll be the most BIASED debates ever, let alone 0bama having the questions in advance. Romney better be prepared to go 'NEWT' on 0bama AND the moderators or else he'll get trampled. Regardless, I still think the left will have a tough time getting their constituents OFF THE COUCH AND TO THE POLLS due to lack of passion for 0bama.

The 0bamamedia is attempting to shape the outcome of this election with their typical FALSE NARRATIVE that 0bama's in the lead, in the hopes that the sheep will follow.. If Carter/Reagan race is any indication, this historically doesn't work. If the sheep think 0bama's going to win, they'll stay home and God knows they lack enthusiasm from the outset this time around.

Yet unknown is the 'October surprise'; Israel/Iran could go at it and at first blush it would seem 0bama could get a 'wartime president' bounce out of it but such an event WOULD UNDERSCORE 0BAMA'S FOREIGN POLICY FAILURE TO AVOID SUCH A CONFRONTATION which could end up hurting him big time. After all, the OBL raid didn't help 0bama as expected because everyone knows he's a coward who always votes 'present' so as to avoid upsetting anyone.
