I don’t believe that 9.5 million people were so demoralized by polls that they stayed home instead of voting for McCain/Palin.

Maybe not, but how many were suckered in by: "Hopey-Changey", racial guilt and media hype?

And who can forget this?

How can he predict a bounce to last 2 weeks?

I just want to know the sample of Democrats vs Republicans it would be helpful if they had that information on the poll makes me think they don't want you to have that information. Doesn't really matter to me as I am a more than likely voter I am a for sure voter and I will vote for Romney right after I vote NO for Jerry Browns tax increase and a NO vote for Molly Mungers tax increase, and a NO vote for our County tax increase. Yes I will be voting no matter what :)

The Republicans de-moralized themselves when they nominated Romney.

The conservatives-wing of the party de-moralized themselves when they failed to defeat Romney. Some accepted and moved on. Others still behave like sour grape.

No, I didn’t. I’m a realist...

Yes, you did.

Instead of addressing the issue of 'result driven polls', the topic of this thread, you decided to embark upon a screed about how convincing the Star Wars bar scene called the "Democrat Convention" was.

That, my FRiend, is missing the point.

This is an echo of the psyops column that was on Townhall over the weekend. The Democrats and the MSM want to depress Romney voters into staying home by making them think that Obama has a bounce, because they know Democrats are losing the enthusiasm battle.

The information is there but only for “platinum members”

Rasmussen explained the coming bounce on FOX News but I only caught portions of the segment because I was doing other things.

YES, we did.

We assumed the worst and worked as if the bad news was true. Of course we always suspect the polling data was manipulated. When is it not? But we still worked as hard as possible as if it were true.

Of all the people that were actually running (so not Palin, not Christie, not Hologram Reagan) who would be doing better against Obama right now?

I thought Perry was the God-send, but he was DREADFUL. That wasn’t Romney’s fault, that was Perry’s fault.

Prior to that I liked Pawlenty, I thought he was the anti-Obama, the complete opposite, well he wouldn’t say “Obamney-care” to Mitt’s face so clearly he wouldn’t say “boo” to a ghost.

I like Santorum too, I sent Santorum money (not much) so that is true support. But....he couldn’t seal the deal.

I suppose I should mention Ron Paul, but in all the years he’s been around he’s never found a way to broaden his appeal. I think he’s basically a professional crank and happy to be one. Maybe his son (whom I love) can go further.

And I don’t know what someone was talking about (here, elsewhere, somewhere on FR) but the party didn’t give Romney any money during the primaries.

The voters chose Romney, he wasn’t selected in a smokey backroom. And Romney chose Ryan, who is great, I don’t think anyone else would have done that.

And by far the best thing about Romney - and he himself should make more hay of this - is that fixing messed up things is what he’s really good at. It’s been his entire career and he’s been very successful.

Isn’t that what we need now, someone to fix our completely financially messed up country?

I really think we should be excited about giving Romney a chance to bring his expertise to bear on things. I’ve come to the conclusion that he really is THE best man for the job, probably the best in the whole country as a matter of fact.

Further, he’s a sober, clean-living, honest, kindly guy.

As for all the social squishy-ness about him, one after the Sandra Fluke war-on-women stuff he can be as right wing as he likes and just watch them stew.

For the rest of it we’ll just have to stay vocal and active.

Don’t forget we ALL share part of the blame for where this country is right now. I know that for years even though I paid attention, I didn’t really pay attention I just read the headlines and all the while I always thought “they’ll figure it out”. But, they didn’t figure it out at all, they just kicked the can down the road as the saying goes.

It’s going to be a long, hard slog to get this nation turned around. But for sure getting rid of Obama is a big part of that.

Only an idiot can be demoralized by a poll. If I saw the polls looked bad it would encourage me to vote and bring family and friends with me.

"Real leaders don't follow polls. Real leaders change polls"

I suspect they did not vote for McCain because they did not like him. Me, I held my nose. That there told me he'd lose.

All of the “My guy lost the primary so I must help defeat Romney so then I can say I was right that my guy should have been the nominee” ARE THE LOWEST FORM OF SCUM!

Well, if I were to take a survey of the people I work with, the majority of them will be backing Zero. Somewhere around 60+%.

I can’t figure out why, very educated people, but they believe Zero is doing the best any president could be doing and just needs more time. And, they ALL watch the State run media and don’t get news from anywhere else.

I don’t need “polls” to tell me Zero is going to walk away with another win this Nov. ... I hear it from the people I work with and know. Sad.

It will be along hard slog to turn around this Country but Romney will do nothing to do that. I live in a solid blue state so my vote would not change anything. He has always been for abortion, and promised he would never infringe on a womans right to choose. RomneyCare pays for abortions. He is the Father of gay Marriage. He also promised he would be better for gays than Ted Kennedy. Catholic Charities no longer do adoptions in Ma. because he implemented same sex adoptions. He tried to force Catholic hospitals to do abortions. RomneyCare which he said last week he was proud of is a disaster. I have relatives in Ma. who are not only paying higher premiums, higher co:payments and longer waits for treatment and referals .His business experence did not help the economy or the job rate in Ma. He raised fees so people were paying more but he could say he did not raise taxes. I could go on and on but those are a few reasons I will not vote for him. I will hope for real change in 4 years rather than 8. As far as him being a fixer what did he fix in MA. As far as the olympics I have yet to hear how he fixed them or what new or innovative ideas he implemented, The problem with the Salt Lake olympics scandal was about corruption in getting the the Olympics to be held in that Salt Lake. BTW his refusal to let the Boy Scouts participate in uniform because it would offend the gays has never been done before or after. He also refused to allow unsold seats to be donated to widows and orphans of 911. He did however give them to Utah politicians. Sorry to go on so long but there is more I could say. Thank you for your courteous response.

“”The Republicans de-moralized themselves when they nominated Romney.””

And you think that Perry, Gingrich, Bachman or Santorum who couldn’t beat Romney or rally the base to their side in the primaries would be doing better???

The problem isn’t Romney. The problem is America is increasingly liberal.
