Mitt Romney on Monday blasted the Chicago Teachers Union for its decision to “turn its back” on students in the Windy City after the labor group, representing teachers and support staff in the nation’s third-largest public school system, walked off the job for the first time time in 25 years.
“Teachers unions have too often made plain that their interests conflict with those of our children, and today we are seeing one of the clearest examples yet,” said Mr. Romney, the GOP’s presidential nominee.
The two sides are reportedly not far apart in salary negotiations, but other issues — such as changes to health insurance packages and the implementation of evaluation systems that rank teachers partly based on students’ standardized tests scores — are still outstanding. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, formerly President Obama’s chief of staff, said the walkout is “not a strike I wanted.”
“It was a strike of choice … it’s unnecessary, it’s avoidable and it’s wrong,” he said.

Chuzzlewit, my sister sounds JUST LIKE your sisters. And I’ll freely admit it, when she CRIES about a 2% increase in her health insurance contribution, I’ve told her she’s a leech and to go f**k herself.
And I don’t regret it one bit. Hell, Mom agrees with me (about the leech part that is...she told me I was over the top with the Eastwoodism).
Now sis trying to extend the ‘olive branch’ to me by saying she likes Scott Brown. My response is: “That’s nice. He’d be a RAT in most states anyway.”

I HATE any and all RATS, their agenda and what they stand for.
This fight is interesting because Obama is forced to side against the teachers Union since this time it is Ron Emanuel's fight against them,
I still say that Republicans should play this up to fracture the Dem's unity. That is how they (Dems) fight Republicans, to get them to shoot each other.

You forget the American-African, tree hugger, college students with loans, Latino, atheist, Muslim, Hollywood, vegetarian votes. Think that pretty much covers it.
