Yeah- he was definitely commitable at that point. And the abolitionists had great difficulty claiming him after that.

Hero, traitor, lightning rod, whatever- he was all that.

Crazy in my book.

Moldering’s well done by now.

He’s not a hero of mine, but an interesting character in the Conflict.

Some go all in- at age 65 it was fairly easy for him to do.

Those with little or nothing to lose can tend to be radical.

Nonsense. The greatest thing any individual has is their pwn life. It is not easily given for something one does not believe in. I need only point to modern day terrorists who are generally middle class or better and yet decide to kill themselves and others in the name of their pederast prophet
