Reuters) - Young men who had smoked marijuana recreationally were twice as likely to be diagnosed with testicular cancer than men who have never used marijuana, according to a U.S. study. .....

"This is the third study consistently demonstrating a greater than doubling of risk of this particularly undesirable subtype of testicular cancer among young men with marijuana use," said Victoria Cortessis of the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, who led the study.

What a ridiculous study as presented.
If all the studies were conducted as this one is presented, I don’t know the researchers came to any conclusions whatsoever.

The war on drugs is over. It was over before it started. You folks didn’t learn from Prohibition.

Don’t whine as your personal freedoms are taken away daily as a result of this war. Don’t whine about Obama running guns to Mexican drug cartels. Don’t whine if the police dress and act like Palestinian terrorists.

Why does a scientific story turn into a debate about the war on drugs?

Pot either increases the risk of cancer or it doesn’t. It’s a scientific question, not a social one.

The story also said they found that cocaine use DECREASED the cancer risk. Does that mean they are calling for the legalization of cocaine? No, it just means they are stating the results of a scientific study.

The study isn’t calling for the outlawing (or legalization) of marijuana. It’s just stating a scientific finding: marijuana use increases the risk of cancer.

Is there something wrong with people having more information so they can make an informed decision?

If your 15 year has trouble getting out of bed in the morning or has toe jam, the QUACK at the Pot Shop (quacks working directly for the distributor- malpractice anyone?) will prescribe pot. ANYONE will get the prescription.

It’s all a scam.

Look at this another way...

Putting people in jail and being paid to take care of them is BIG BUSINESS. Prisons are becoming privatized, and just like in the Education Monopoly you need participants to make ot a profitable venture.

Understand that “prohibition” was first proposed to rid our country from “demon alcohol” and cure many societal ills. What it did was stimulate the desire as Americans hate being told what to do, and created a criminal class to provide the prohibited items.

When Prohibition was repealed the Government had a problem, what to do to keep all pf the Agents employed, it was in the middle of the depression. Peter Anslinger, the head of the agency at the time and others cooked up a new “demon”, first Cocaine crazed Negroes raping white women, and then reefer madness. Note they had NOT been identified as a problem when the focus was on Alcohol, but suddenly became so when repeal came

1937 — At the two-hour Congressional hearing on July 10 that preceded passage of the Marihuana Tax Act, the American Medical Association’s legal director, Dr. William C. Woodward, presents an inspired prophecy: “Since the medicinal use of cannabis has not caused and is not causing addiction, the prevention of the use of the drug for medicinal purposes can accomplish no good whatsoever. How far it may serve to deprive the public of the benefits of a drug that on further research may prove to be of substantial value, it is impossible to foresee.”

Voila, the Government had found it’s new demon, and if you look at it closely it was really a racially motivated scheme.

http://petergormanarchive.com/at/drug-war-stories/sixty-years-of-reefer-madness-prohibition-follies-from-anslinger-to-mccaffrey.html

Prohibition creates a problem in many cases, and the solution in the Governments eyes is incarceration. I can back up a 26 ft U-Haul to virtually any liquor store in the USA and buy them out and all I will hear is “thanks, come again!” Did Alcohol suddenly change ot’s “nature” and become ok?

No, it was again legal and use dropped considerably after a time. The Government got tax revenue from it and the whole thing passed into history.

In my life I have known a lot of people who used and abused many things, and I will tell you personally I would rather deal with a pot smoker than a drunk or a pill popper any time any where.

So all of the snarky comments mean nothing to me, this is my personal experience over many years. The “studies” being brought out only serve to keep “reefer madness” on the front burner and acting as a vehicle to increase prison population.

Do some research and stop parroting old axioms, if you don’t like it don’t smoke it. And this last tidbit for all of the “tut tutters” who consider themselves so wise.

Over 200,000 Americans die each and every year from taking LEGAL prescription medicines provided by their doctor. When have you EVER heard of, as they said on Saturday Night Live, “Another Marijuana related death”

Choose your poison boys and girls

Just ask them how much they’re makin’ (money selling pot) or takin’ (using it to escape reality).
