Nick Clegg's office attempts to withdraw 'bigot' comment about opponents of gay marriage

Nick Clegg is embroiled in an embarrassing row over homosexual marriage after issuing a statement denouncing opponents of the Coalition’s plans for same-sex unions as “bigots”.

The attack would be the strongest criticism by a minister of the Government’s opponents over marriage, who include the Church of England, the Roman Catholic Church and scores of Conservative MPs.

In a speech written and distributed by his office, Mr. Clegg also suggested that the success of the London Olympics helped make the case for allowing homosexual couples the same marriage rights as heterosexuals. …

Bigots then are a good thing, and protect life, marriage and freedom.

My homosexual gay-married gay brother died of Aids 6 years ago.

His twin brother, non-married homosexual gay brother of mine, has contracted Aids and will die from it.

If it takes Bigots to keep your brother alive, have Bigots. Homosexuality Kills. My family has paid and my brothers paid the supreme price for this abomination perverted sexual behavior.

Life, marriage, freedom. That is what the church should support. If that means being Bigots, well ok, let’s be Bigots.

As a serious question, what are the odds that twins become/are homosexual?

>> the same marriage rights as heterosexuals. …

The idea that marriage is a “right” is absurd, and a sacrilegious homage to government.

No government belongs in the marriage business.

Interesting question.

The twin brother that is still alive and being treated for Aids was married to a woman right after college, and she left him for another woman. He has been bi-sexual since then, but mostly homosexual in the past decade or so — while the dead twin was only homosexual and married his gay partner a few years before dying after a 14 year battle with Aids.

I did a quick google on the subject and find a practically 50% correlation of homosexuality when gay fraternal males twins surveyed. (if a fraternal twin male is gay, the other male fraternal twin is about 50% of the time also homosexual). I did not know the incidence is that high. The two brothers are the youngest of 5 children, and there are no other homosexual siblings nor other relatives in the family, as far as I know.

I have to tell you it is very upsetting. Aids in not a pleasant illness to cope with.

Disgusting. All the real conservatives in Europe are free to come over whenever they feel the continent is lost. We’ll need their votes to offset Bambi’s influx of Mexicans.

Did he lisp fabulously when he said it?

I’m sorry about your brothers and appreciate you laying out your case for others to hear the reality of the consequences.

That is the way I feel about it, too. It is hate to urge people to act in a way that destroys themselves and others as a social policy. Not the other way around.

Thanks so much. We have dealt with a lot of deadly illness in my family, alcoholism, drug addiction, cancer (mine and my wife’s). We look for the miracles and serve God.

Aids is an illness contracted directly due to homosexual behavior. None of the proponents ever discuss it. Death is a high price to pay for cultural relativism. Ask any aborted baby.

Thanks, and regrets for the loss of your family members.

50% chance? I wonder if other traits also have a similar 50% chance of existing in each twin.

Maybe the 2nd twin consciously (or subconsciously) accepts the behavior of the 1st as an inevitable actuality.

I read about this yesterday. That “bigot” word in that context is so obnoxious, and Clegg was right to refuse to use it.
