NY Times ^ | September 12, 2012 | BRIAN STELTER

Glenn Beck is bringing his brand of conservative commentary back to the television set.

One year after embracing an Internet-only distribution model, Mr. Beck is repositioning his streaming network, TheBlaze TV, as an offering for cable and satellite operators — in other words, TV the old-fashioned way.

>> TV the old-fashioned way.

Hardly. Satellite distribution/broadcast of an Internet program is something new, if not the first.

Five dollars a month, I might spring for it when it makes it to cable.

I liked him of Fox.

I even liked him more when he was on CNN because I knew he was driving them insane!!!

Glen said they’d rue the day they took him off Fox. I believe his prophecy is coming true. He is more dangerous as an independent, and I mean that in a good way.

I lost all respect for him when he started betraying his listeners trust by telling them send money to GoldLine. That told me right there he doesn’t give a damn about anything other than enriching himself.

He’s got his own TV channel.

His show is totally different and much better on his own channel than it ever was on FOX or CNN. He’s talking about subject matters that FOX and CNN never allowed him to talk about. Personally, I think FOX has become nothing more than CNN Lite.

That post doesn’t make any sense, unless you’re a liberal who hates capitalism.

He’s destined to be the next male Oprah. He makes more with the internet channel than he made at Fox and now he has radio, his own clothing line and practically everything else. I have DirecTV, so I will still have to wait for him to get bigger. I just can’t bring myself to pay for his channel on the internet. I have so much to watch now, I can’t add another show. I might just turn into a blob in my Lazy Boy.

I have Knology cable, so it might be a while before I see his channel on my cable system. For now, I’m going to continue watching his channel online through Roku.

Won’t cost extra for Dish customers who have the America’s Top 250 or higher packages as it will be included. AT250 is Dish’s most popular package right now. It’s the equivalent to DirecTV’s “Everything” package.

I can tell you if you liked him at Fox and CNN, you are going to love him on his own. Unbridled, the content is far better and informative. I have essentially given up on all but Greta on Fox. BOR lost me permanently when he made that statement to Beck during the Van Jones kerfuffle that we had nothing to fear from communists anymore. Hannity lost me in the lst few months when his show became nothing more than a shouting match and Juan Williams has become so irritating that I refuse to listen.

Beck was always bridled and he talks openly about it now. Just yesterday he talked about being censored when it came to showing any video of the WTC attacks, even on 911.

His show starts at 5:00 and is followed at 6 by Real News and starting just this week Wilcow has a new show at 7. The honest discussion of ideas on all three shows is far more informative than the entire day of Fox, especially the commentary shows. I predict this satellite and cable access will go out the roof quickly. I mean he now has more subscribers for his internet network than CNN has viewers for their prime time. He pulls no punches for either party so the GOPe is going to absolutely hate this move.

You have no friggin idea what you are talking about. In this day and age, are you going to sit there and try to tell us that buying Gold three to four years ago was not a good idea? So what if he was selling it as a commercial. I’ll bet you don’t get all exercised about the Proctor and Gamble commercials during your soap operas!

Chuckles,

By the amazing content and informative nature of his shows, it is far worth the subscription for that alone. By the other stuff you are watching instead, if it is Fox or others, you will not see the arguing and yelling over each other like Hannity. Hannity has become a huge sellout to the GOPe as has the rest of Fox. Glen gives it both barrels when it is due to any party.

The Tea Party now has an honest outlet for news and information without the snobish likes of Brit Hume. You know, Hannity never mentioned the Planned Parenthood deal with Rove last night and when talking about the Cairo Embassy thing never mentioned the killing at the Lybian consulate, even when one of the guest mentioned there were two attacks.

Beck was telling people to buy gold in 2008. He meant real gold bullion.

Montel Williams was telling people to buy gold clad coins in 2009.

Who is trying to help out the folks?

The Obama Coins Rip-Off

With the election of Barack Obama to the U.S. presidency, there has been an outpouring of strong emotions among many Americans the likes of which we haven’t seen in relation to a U.S. president since John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. Coin collectors are well aware of the important change to U.S. coinage that occurred as a result of the strong emotional response to Kennedy’s death. The Franklin Half Dollar, which had only been in circulation for 16 years, was quickly replaced by the Kennedy Half. Normally, a coin design was supposed to have been in use for at least 25 years before being replaced, but due to the strong public sentiment for Kennedy, the new Half Dollar was released into circulation within 3 months of the assassination! The 1964 Kennedy Halves were widely hoarded as mementos, and public demand was so strong that more than 429,000,000 of them were struck. This was a gigantic mintage for half dollars, which usually saw mintages well below 10% of this number.

Fast-forward to 2008 and we have the election of Obama, the first U.S. President with African-American roots, a man who has a strong appeal to Americans of all racial backgrounds. Emotional feelings for Obama are running high, and many people who have no knowledge of coin collecting and what makes a coin valuable are buying coins for the first time. They are buying coins that commemorate Obama’s success, and the slick TV shopping show marketers are taking full advantage of this emotional response and the naivete of non-collectors to sell them these numismatically worthless coins. The coins I am talking about are the colorized State Quarters and Presidential Dollars that are being sold for ridiculous prices. These marketers are defacing U.S. coins by applying color portraits of Obama, and then selling them to you at 15 to 60 times face value. My regular readers know that I have a strong dislike for coins with mutilated surfaces, especially when someone is selling them as investments. I had originally done a standard consumer advocate-type warning article about the Obama coins, until Scott Travers, the author of my all-time favorite coin collecting book, The Coin Collector’s Survival Manual, saw my article and made me aware of a frightening fact. It seems that some people don’t just buy 2 or 3 of these coins as keepsakes, they buy 300 to 500 of them as serious “investments!”

Learn more about the various types of colorized Obama commemorative coins which are being sold, and read what Travers has to say about their future growth potential as a collectible in my article about the Obama coins rip-off. My article also tells you which commemorative Obama coin is the only one that was officially commissioned by the Democratic Party.

http://coins.about.com/b/2008/11/11/the-obama-coins-rip-off.htm

If you bought gold in 2008 for $900 an ounce and wanted to sell them today for $1740 you could easily do it.

If you bought the gold clad coins hawked by Williams, well, you would have some worthless trinkets your kids would not even like.

For those who have Dish Network, it’s located on channel 212 as “BLAZE” in the onscreen program guide.

One post to an ill-informed Beck hater is spamming? (not you)

You use the word. But, I do not think you know what it means.
